I'm scratching my head that Paulisto has been granted a work permit to sign for Arsenal. He is Brazilian and has never played for Brazil. Playing for Arsenal! No problem welcome to our country here is your work permit. Then there is the young guy who has just signed for Leicester. Similar credentials but given a work permit. When it comes to an American who has played for his country,USA and is an up and coming talent he is not granted a work permit. Can someone explain the difference or justify the verdicts to me. There doesn't seem to be much reaction to this business. Obviously Bojan's injury has overshadowed it, but there really does seem to be a tremendous inconsistensy.

There doesn't seem to be much reaction to this business. Obviously Bojan's injury has overshadowed it, but there really does seem to be a tremendous inconsistensy. It stinks on multiple levels. They have a strict set of guidelines to deny work permits, yet insert this loophole area that only the elite clubs like Arsenal will be able to take advantage of, because smaller clubs haven't got 10 million to spend on "exceptionally talented" foreign players who can't even get a cap for their country. Corrupt governments around the world would be proud of that one. What makes it even worse is this notion Arsenal should get favourable treatment because Paulista will somehow help the English players. Yet he's a foreigner who is going to directly block the progress of a supposedly talented English player (we all know Chambers is crap, but that's not the point). The only consolation from all this is that, knowing Arsene Wenger and his eye for a defender, this player will have all the defensive attributes of a slice of cheese on toast, and Arsenal will be no better off after all.
