Brazilian defender with a fancy haircut and long sleeves. Doesn't sound like a Pulista to me.

Just looking at that photo on the Beeb page, is he trying to kick the back of his head, or just practising what's going to happen to his legs, after his first tackle at the Brit?

Well, well well Mr Wenger wants work permit regulations for non European players to be scrapped!
Well he would as Arsenal are trying to sign Brazilian Paulista from Villarreal but he needs a work permit as hasn't
played ANY International football!!!

Nah they won't. They'll just grant him a work permit for being a special case.

he shouldn't complain really. under the new proposed rules then he'd qualify anyway as he'd breach the £10mill barrier (As Villareal have a £15mill release clause) so would get an exemption
to be fair 1 good point he did raise though was how our WP rules automatically push prices up for players also: they wanted to sign di Maria when he was 17 but couldn't get a WP. by the time a WP was justified for him (due to him being an exceptional talent) he'd already played for Benfica and Real Madrid so was going to be massively expensive.
as we've all said before though, our WP laws do nothing but price all the "Normal" clubs out of the market and perpetuate the cycle of very few continuing their success and only them being able to compete for titles.

To be fair they had Wellington Silva turned down before. So they had to loan him to spain for two years in order to get a passport.

"The Home Office scheme is administered by the Football Association and there had been some concern last week at how the panel of football experts would view Arsenal’s appeal for Gabriel. He did not meet the current stipulation of having played 75 per cent of matches over the past two years for his national team but Arsenal successfully argued that he was a player of the “highest calibre” who could “contribute significantly to the development of the game at the top level in England”.
What if hes wank....?

Oxymoron: "highest calibre" and "Arsenal" appearing in the same sentence.

But can you really think of anything more important than stopping uppity little clubs like Stoke from spoiling it for the established "big clubs" good news is they have £13 million on a player who is not as good as Shawcross

Thick brown envelopes, Rolex watches, corporate seats at the Emitarse Stadium nothing wrong with that. Don't you know it's common-place amongst the good righteous clubs at the top.

This is ridiculous.....
No doubt next time the FA decide to screech publicly about "foreign" players it'll be just as we have to try and sign someone who hasn't met the criteria and we've just put the application in.... Coincidence??
