...the usual Arni talks. Couldn´t see the game, but i think, he must have been weak, if Stoke has so much problems (at home!!) against a Conference team....as well as the rest of the squad. On the other hand, we should be grateful to have Arni, if he´s the man who equalizes in FA Cup 10 minutes before the end of the game and prepares another goal. Looking forward to the Arsenal game....that´s Arni´s cup of tea.

After playing 5 games in 13 days following a long spell of virtually not playing at all, I'm gob smacked he even managed to last the 90 minutes yesterday. Let's face it he was bound to be losing his edge after that schedule but, over the previous 4 games, he was one of our better players and even yesterday he scored 1 and got an assist. That's a well done Arnie, from me. Hopefully the week they now have between games means he will be at his best against Arsenal. Some of the posters on this message board set the bar awfully high where Arnie is concerned! He set the bar high for himself with his performances in the second half of last season. He's not got anywhere near those levels yet this season which is why he's driving people nuts! He's slowly getting there though in my opinion. You haven't really addressed the point I made in my first paragraph. ANY player who doesn't play much up to late December and then plays 5 games in 13 days is going to see a dip in performance by the 5th game. I quite agree that Arnie's performances were unacceptable when he got the odd game early in the season but he did show quite dramatic improvements over the Christmas period - enough to get a couple of MOTM performances in my opinion. But I was not at all surprised that he, to some extent, hit the buffers yesterday - I'm just surprised that so many people didn't seem to think that it was probably down to playing so many games in a short time when he was short of match fitness by the time the Christmas period started. For what it is worth, I think what, in effect, has been a crash course in match fitness over the past two weeks, will pay dividends - and he should be as fit as a butcher's dog and put in a stellar performance against Arsenal.
