No better or worse than anyone else today. Arnie fustrates the hell out of me at times, but he is what he is.

He's inconsistent in the extreme and that is natural. He only cost 2.5M.
If we wanted consistent flair and real hard graft, we should have punted 42.5M on Mesut Ozil.

Today showed why he can't be trusted to deliver, despite his ability he fails to show it on a consistent basis and when it matters, it's a shame because he clearly has the ability but for whatever reason he fails to deliver too often and for that reason he should never start for us in important games

Utter rubbish Your mind is made up on the way to the stadium Who'd have thought werrington in another 'made up your mind on the way to the stadium' shocker. If some believe he was poor then fair do's but don't keep trotting out that above usual quote every time. Anyway werrington happy new year. At least he goes to the stadium, unlike Tazi the arm chair TP fan.

Today only turned into a big game because the whole team bollocksed it up. He didn't play well, but he was in the right place at the right time when we needed it most, so that'll do me.

This guy divides supporters like no other. There was nearly a fight about him in the seats near me at the Chelsea game. For what it's worth I live in Bremen, where he joined us from and all their supporters that I know eventually got tired of him doing it one game in five and flattering to deceive and were mainly glad to see him leave. They still ask about him though, cos they like us know how good he can be on his day.

This, he's a big game player and relishes the challenge. The lad infuriates me no end, be he is what he is and I doubt he'll ever change. The one thing I've noticed is that he seems reluctant to take a man on, he always seems to check and pass back inside, where arnie of old would go down the outside. And

Didn't think there was much wrong with his shift today, though he never looks quite the ticket when played on the right. He was awesome against Man Utd, and crowned that with a goal today... persevere with him and we'll see his mercurial genius. Possibly the finest exponent of plucking the ball out of the air and keeping it under control I've seen. He played with a dour midfield today... him and the N'Zonzi and Bojan buzz off one another, and Arnie and muscleman Pieters are a formidable partnership on the left. He always makes a point of coming over to me {and every other Stokie} to give his appreciative applause at the end of the game... Quality. Give him a little back.

I listened to the last 30 minutes on the Beeb (thanks for the Hola advice) so I can't say how he played. But one thing not mentioned in this thread is how well Arnie has been defensively since he came into the side. That has really impressed me how he has tracked back and gotten some key interceptions. Between him and Diouf they strangled Everton from lolaying out of the back.

He was very,very poor.I question whether or not he will make it with us.Too inconsistent but undoubtdedly a talent. That's the exact same opinion we usually had of him at Bremen.... "He's got so much obvious potential, but why does he need to wait for unicorns to come galloping into the stadium, being ridden by naked Amazons and their twin sisters, before he shows it...

That being said, they are still in agreement that he does have the ability to punch his way through a defending line. Sometimes. When he feels like it. And looks up from the ground. And it's a big game and he's on TV. Or Elia made a bet with him. Or he got laid. Who knows?

Between him and Diouf they strangled Everton from playing out of the back. I'd like to echo that. I'm a fan of his 'sand wedge'* corner delivery too. Suffered a couple of two footed lunges today, and scored despite the unwarranted attention from those in Green continually hacking at him. {*copyright Sportsman.}

If they come into the stadium racing towards the enemy goal, the opposing team might be so shocked / traumatized / busy vomiting (or well one or two of them might start flirting) that Stoke can score a few goals in the meantime.

We do have Pink Hippopotamuses and a bearded lady at the Brit at the moment. Perhaps it's time for a change.

After playing 5 games in 13 days following a long spell of virtually not playing at all, I'm gob smacked he even managed to last the 90 minutes yesterday. Let's face it he was bound to be losing his edge after that schedule but, over the previous 4 games, he was one of our better players and even yesterday he scored 1 and got an assist. That's a well done Arnie, from me. Hopefully the week they now have between games means he will be at his best against Arsenal. Some of the posters on this message board set the bar awfully high where Arnie is concerned!

Some of the posters on this message board set the bar awfully high where Arnie is concerned! He set the bar high for himself with his performances in the second half of last season. He's not got anywhere near those levels yet this season which is why he's driving people nuts! He's slowly getting there though in my opinion.
