They'll get him for £15-20 mill because he'll just demand the move.

If I was Swansea I'd hold on for every penny they could get, signed a new deal in October and they have absolutely no reason to sell even if bony was to spit his dummy.

What worries me most about our current transfer policy is that we'll always miss out on the Bony's of the future. I suppose Bojan disproves this but I think he's probably an exception. We certainly seemed to be sniffing around Bony, and we've never been in a stronger position to secure the signature of this type of player as we are now. Oh I know, and we may not have seriously pursued Bony. Bony's talent was often discussed on here though I remember - and it just concerns me that our transfer policy means that we'll never take a £10m gamble on a future Bony, and at a time when we could probably attract one. Which is understandable, but reduces our chance of hitting the jackpot. No doubt that we're doing OK with a vastly reduced transfer budget so far though, and long may it continue. I just fear that our luck may run out one day as we're fishing in quite a small pond.

Man City can't spend 60m because of their FFP sanctions Yes the fact they loaned Lampard for 12 months now was a clearly a way round the rules.

Man City can't spend 60m because of their FFP sanctions If they are promising Swansea 'mega-money' in the summer........he'll go on loan. They then sell to balance the books.

I could put my house on the market for £4.5 million, doesn't mean I'll get it though. He's worth what someone's prepared to pay which will end up being around £20 million I would guess

On the what is he worth question raised by the OP well the list of 2014's Premier League scorers was topped jointly by Sergio Aguero and Wilfried Bony.
If you don't like the stats there is a great description of what he is capable of from Barney Ronay in the Guardian today.
Look at a reel of Bony's goals on YouTube and there he is each time, never quite marked, occupying always that portable little pocket of Bony-space. For all his alluring brawn, Bony is no raging bull but a connoisseur of angles ans timing and the most controlled and insistent if finishers. This is the reason his price is so high.

Why gamble 10m, Hughes has proved more than adept at investing wisely with small amounts. Suspect the board are still a bit sore from the palacios (& that bloke from south America, I can't even remember his bloody name) so are bound to be a little reserved with the purse strings. Sure big money will be available for Hughes soon, but we shouldn't be breaking our transfer record on gambles

The figure of 60 mil was total cost to the buyer including his 100 k per week over 4 years . Transfer fee demanded by Swansea is 40 mil . Still too much though

Well if Andy Carrol was worth 35 mil then I can believe it.
Bony appears to be the player that Lukaku was supposed to be and he was sold for 28 mill

No doubt in my mind that he has certainly convinced as a top Prem striker - after quite a slow start, Swans fans were moaning after a couple of months - and will certainly end up somewhere other than Swansea. What I don't get at all is that, for me at least, he is a totally NON-typical Man City type player ?!

He's a good age, proven in the premier league & he's eligible to play in the Champions League. Prices are always inflated in January. Swansea don't have to sell but every player has his price. Just a question of how much Man City want him.

Great player.... If he were at a top club then the 60m might not seem too ridiculous.
As it's Swansea though I can't see it happening for more than 30m

They should get all they can for him, if Man City want to pay £60m then let them!
If they were to sell Bony for £20m they are going to really struggle to find a replacement, let's not forget the crazy prices that McCormack and Long went for this summer and signing players in January is always more expensive.
