Good to see Fonz putting in some consistent displays now. We need him as part of the backbone of our team.

Begovic 7: composed, but got lucky with the shot that hit the post.
Shawcross 8: his usual self, marshalling the back line with authority. Muniesa 7: solid enough, but I still worry about his physicality. GCam 7: Again solid. Pieters 8: Excellent at the back and delivered a lovely cross for the 1st goal.
Zonz 8: Controlled the midfield, especially 2nd half. bought the ball forward and started many an attack from deep. Whelan 7: Protected the back 4 as usual. its no coincidence that we have turned a corner since he has come back.
Arnie 8: best performance of the season. Linked up well with Bojan and Diouf and unwittingly provided the assist for Dioufys second. Bojan 8: This boy is a different gravy, his ball to Pieters in the build up to the 1st was world-class. Diouf 9: Answered a lot of his critics today with 2 magnificent poachers goals. MOTM
Crouch 6: worked hard, but it didn't come off for him.
SJW 7: Full of running and put a shift in. Wilson 6: solid. Adam 6: not enough time to make meaningful impact.
Sparky 8: Tactics did not come off first half, but he changed things round at half time and it paid off handsomely.

I'd agree with all that except I was impressed by Muniesa today. He did a great job and looked excellent when carrying the ball forward. I think he is making the position his. Did Adam actually touch the ball much this afternoon? He came on late but I can't remember him doing anything; the ball just didn't get to him, did it?

All about opinions but I thought Diouf was no better than a six, as said on a previous post if we had a better forward we'd easily be a top six side.

Bego 6 - looked a bit shaky to me
Cameron 6 - poor first half, good second half Shawcross 8 - won everything Muniesa 8 - did very well Eric 8 - same as above
N'zonzi 8 - fantastic driving runs. Just did what he's good at Whelan 5.5 - thought he was poor on the ball
Arnie 8 - very good offensively and defensively Bojan 8 - a joy as usual but could do better Diouf 9 MOTM - he is our answer to the goal scoring problem. He should not be played on the wing.
Crouch 5 - thought we were much better without him
Wilson 6 Adam 6 Walters 5.5

* Bego 7.5 Had a steady game. Eric 8 Solid. Ryan 8.5 Solid. Muni 8 Solid in a strange way. Cameron 7 Wobbly solid, but gets forward well. Nzonzi 10 Immense. Skilfully sublime. On song, as he was today, I love to watch him play. Deffo MOM. Whelan 7.5 We need him and his work rate, but he will need another couple of games to get back to his best. Lost a mark for giving the ball away too many times. Arnie 7.5 He might have a got a 9 had he taken the many chances he had to beat his defender. Mame 7.5 Poor first half, but he is not a winger! Made up for it second half and showed what is his best position. Bojan 8. He's showing the effects of too many games. Even so, what he did was excellent, and the ball out to Pieters for our 1st was sublime. Crouch 6 Not one of his best games for us, but as always, he put in a shift.
Subs Walters 7 Wilson 6 Adam 6

Funny how people see things differently mate. I thought he was brilliant today. I thought he was the best player on the park on Boxing Day mate but looked slightly off the pace today. Assume that's why he was taken off.

Assume that's why he was taken off. It seems to me like he's playing further forward. He's winning some great tackles higher up the pitch. Same as Boxing Day.
