I will never trust Scudamore.

In terms of the people who want this, which, as he admits in the article itself, include Richard Scudamore, and quite a few clubs, I wouldn't call it "dead" but rather "on hold". It's not going to happen in the life of the next TV deal, i.e until 2019, but it would be very foolish to be complacent about it.

I don't mind the idea tbh.
I'm a season ticket holder doesn't mean I have to watch this one though. Provided every 39th game was on free to watch telly I'm up for it.

The 39th game may be gone
They are just talking about playing one round of the 38 overseas instead as adding a game would distort twice per season concept numerically. Although they dont seem to be bothered that once a season one team would be losing home advantage, would anyone here rather play arsenal in Miami than at the Brit? There arsenal team would not turn up shitting it as they did the other week
They will continue to rape the game for every penny until the product they sell around the world for billions no longer exists as we know it.

It's only got the remotest smidgen of integrity if there are two sets of fixtures played abroad, with both games involving the same two teams so that neither has an advantage of playing a home fixture. So for example, we could play Sunderland abroad, then the return fixture against Sunderland would also be played abroad.
Basically though, I think the whole idea is a pile of poo.

39th game was daft. As is the overseas game proposal. Packed Yankee Stadium Saturday night for..,.... Burnley v Hull. Yeah that'll happen.

What seems to have gone under the radar is this idea that 10 fixtures will be played on a Friday night throughout the season. What a complete load of utter arse gravy!
So now we have Premier League matches on every day other than a Thursday night. The crazy situation of Europa League Thursday/Sunday games fucks things up for most teams and fans let alone the addition of a Friday night. If they want more games on the TV, just show some Saturday 3pms. Once again no thought for the proper fans attending the games.
Luckily we've avoided the boxing day evening snoozefest fixture but shafted again with a New years day 12:45.
