It would have been a good away tie, but it will be a limp affair at home, a bit of a shame in all truth. This is Stoke City we are talking about here. Can't you remember Telford Utd, Nuneaton Borough, Tamworth, Bath City and going back further, Blyth Spartans. Take nothing for granted. Agreed. I can remember Walsall 22.1.66 lost 0-2. Totally gutted. I was playing rugby for Wolstanton grammar that afternoon and couldn't believe the news when it came through on the team bus radio. If players approach it with "Gods" attitude, we're in trouble, because Wrexham wont be.

They have 1873 on their badge, but they're celebrating 150 years this year, how's that work? Our updated one has the year 1864 on it, as does the commemorative one, but you probably couldn't tell as even our bloody club website hasn't updated it

The chairman of our supporter's trust is also our club historian, and he managed to find some evidence that we were indeed founded in 1864, when our cricket club (founded in 1863) got bored of playing cricket and decided to play football. The earliest evidence of us playing football is from 1864

We can't have a go at anyone regarding a dodgy lineage when it comes to the history of their club!

The crowd will be particularly poor and not up for this game one bit unfortunately. Where as if it were an away tie it would have been totally different.

Our founders were Charterhouse, working as engineers on the railways...

It's a brilliant tie, wife has relatives in Wrexham so I have always had a soft spot for them.

I can't remember that afternoon, but I played rugby for Wolstanton First XV in 1966-67, so I was probably on that bus, too !!!
Was that the year the First XV were unbeaten?
I'm Kelvin Burke......would you remember me?
