Just about regained the ability to speak now, what a way to spend Saturday afternoon! imho we've had that first half coming for a while, just fantastic to witness and it's going to give us so much confidence to kick on from here, hopefully. As for letting Arse come back... I'm feeling really positive about the way we handled that too, ok this isn't their best season but they're still a class act, they threw everything they had at us, within the rules and not within the rules and we held it off.
For Sparky, for sticking to his guns and seeing it pay off, it's a richly earned 9* from me.

He pissed me off taking muni off
I appreciate why he brought whelan on and moving gcam back but why change a winning defence.
That drops him to a 9

8* great selection even though I wasn't too sure a when I heard it, but we seemed to sit too deep in the second half when we had all the momentum, in the end we were hanging on against 10 men. Great win though and the first 45 minutes was up there amongst the best displays I've see at Stoke for years. Gouranga.

10. Faultless display. Agreed with everything he did. Ok it was twitchy bum near the end and I heard a few people saying we made hard work of it but again.... Have a bit of perspective! Like it or lump it arsenal are one of the best teams in Europe. They are a good side who threw everything at us. The win was fantastic

Seemed to lose the plot a bit 2nd half. Especially when Muniesa went off. It would have been criminal had we lost, but we didn't. A positive 9 from me.

9* for me
The only reason not a 10 was bringing Adam on. Nearly lost us the game
Was Diouf injured? Massively missed his pace and movement when he went off

9* from me. I've knocked him 1 off for bringing Adam on. Surely Hughes can see that Adam is completely unfit and doesn't even deserve to be on the bench! Either Adam has something wrong with him or he's not training properly. Baffling how a player can lose fitness and put on so much weight as he has in such a short time.
OS.

9+ today, only error was bringing Adam on which could have cost the match.
We actually scored from a set piece for the first time this season!

As others have said - one mark lost for bringing Adam on for Diouf. If he wanted to replace Diouf late in the game then Arnie would have been a much better option. The ball sticks better to him and he showed signs at Old Trafford that he was returning to form. Whilst Adam is always a possibility for a goal he's equally likely to give away free kicks in dangerous places - he was lucky not to be red carded for his head lock yesterday.

Still need to work on those set pieces and we still need to get that defence sorted but going forward we looked bang on yesterday.

8* I though Geoff Looked better in the middle as Glen does not look fit and bringing on Adam was a mistake.

I was going to give him a 9* because bringing Adam on was not the right thing to do at the time. But I am going to give him an extra point to make it 10* because the sight of him standing calmly in his posh suit with his arms folded in his technical area for just about the whole game exuded a quiet confidence and dignity which must have got through to the team. The contrast with Wenger, sitting on the bench, muffled up in his padded coat, looking anxiously on with his cronies, could not have been greater. This was Hughes at his very best, going to work in a professional manner, ensuring his instructions were carried out, and I thought that the status of the club was raised considerably by his bearing, his dignity and his satisfaction that he did an excellent all-round job on Saturday.
Long may it continue!

10* first half; lots of injuries meant he was more or less forced to play anyone who was fit. Thought Cameron did really well as holding midfield with N'zonzi who had another great game; I want to also praise Diouf & SJW for all the tracking back they did to help out the defence. I don't like Crouch mesel but I thought he had an outstanding game. But to put it in perspective this was Arse & even by Arse standards they defence was woeful; they looked like they'd been trained in the week by Nello or some of his circus clown mates. At half time, 3-0 up, I didn't think we'd be so stupid as to hand the initiative to Arse; sure, go a bit more defensive but look to hit them on the break; not relying on them being reduced to 10 men & us, with 11, back pedalling & holding on for grim death; we know we're not gonna keep a clean sheet; we know we can't let them get a shot at Bego; if we're playing deep, couldn't we consider Assaidi's pace to relieve the pressure; I'm a big fan of Charlie but he just didn't fit in; somehow we needed a leader out there who can organise midfield. So, second half, lots of doubts raised their heads again for me; we gotta learn to close out games, stifle teams, be pro-bloody-fessional, so 2 or 3 for 2nd half.
