What a shame what has happened to the club this season. People talk about Liverpool and how Suarez carried the team but it seems without Lewandowski, Dortmund have fallen on the hardest of hard times. 11 points from 13 games rock bottom of the table.

They've had a shed load of injuries more than making it just losing Lewandowski. Still no excuse for how bad they're doing though.

I read the match reports from time to time and it seems as if luck is not on their side regarding hitting the post and such, but defending seems woeful and yet they were in the champions league final with the same core squad not too long ago. It's baffling really, I don't really watch Bundesliga football but would you say it's Klopp that's the problem as well or is his stock still high?

You could see a mass exodus at Dortmund soon really couldn't you... Manager and players, would be a shame I really do love that team! Fans are an amazing spectacle

I aren't sure if they're still out but Hummels and Gundogan or however you spell it had been out for some time and I think they've paid for that as well as losing Lewandowski who is such a class striker. Reus is leaving in the summer too apparently. I think it's mainly injuries and losing Lewandowski but the drop in their performances has been massive and no one saw it coming.

I've watched highlights from most games and they create so many chances but just don't convert them. Plus they can't defend for toffee.

Its less Lewandowski and more they've steadily lost their best players each year for the past few seasons. You can only rebuild so many times.
Klopp saw it coming, he's been complaining about it for a while now.

They've lost Gotze and Lewandowski but have spent big this summer.
Ciro Immobile cost them 17M Euro's and has scored 1 in 3, and in total they've spent 45M. They spent 46M the season before. Net spend over the last two seasons is around 45M.
Klopp can't have many complaints with that. It certainly is not a valid excuse to drop to the bottom of the Bundesliga.
His star has faded badly this season.

Really feel for Dortmund.
I loved the fact that they upset the monopoly by winning the Bundesliga twice instead of the german darlings that are Bayern.
I just hope they can get it sorted and mostly, stop having to let players for to Bayern.
For some reason, I fucking loathe Bayern.

Imagine all of Chelseas best players going to Man United or Liverpool's best players going to Chelsea. Or Arsenals best players going to top four rivals... oh wait

That's fair enough mate But sympathy for a club the size of Dortmund with their financial wealth, support,, clout and success is akin to having sympathy for Man Utds current predicament In a word .....fuck em ( smiley )

Speaking of the Bundesliga in general, seems to be quite a shakeup in the table!
1. Bayern Munich 2. Wolfsburg 3. Bayer Leverkusen 4. FC Augsburg

And Hummels is still out who is their standout centre half and Gundogan is only on the bench, their star protectorate of the back 4.
So they can't even rely on that little bit of solidity.

Klopp has serious problems.
Probably leaving - Reuss and Hummels
Gundogan is back but part-time at present.
Subotic seems off the pace, Kehl Twilight of his career, Weidenfeller Unreliable and should not be captain
Out injured Reuss, Sahin (maybe back soon), Blaszakowsky (sp), Socrates, Schmelser (returning?)
Neither Ramos (our alternative to Diouf) not Immobile are convincing as yet.
Basically his whole approach over the last three years or so has been sussed and everyone is now playing a high up the pitch pressing game with quick counter attacks - lesser teams now seem better motivated as with Frankfurt.
Klopp is too committed to 4-2-3-1 and should mix it up more.
IMHO Klopp will leave soon as he fancies a new challenge e.g Premier League.
Dortmunds golden period is drawing to a close.
Basically if you don't like Bayern realistically the only long term alternative in terms of scale of support is Dortmund.
They will be back but not anytime soon I think

I covered the Dortmund match yesterday at work, they lost 2-0 and they were lucky to get 0.. Defenders look like they've never met before, no creativity in the middle and nothing upfront.. Really strange to see them bottom, but they look as though they deserve it
