Not seen anyone mention this yet but I usually like to set a little stopwatch on me phone at the end of games so i know how we are getting on with extra time. Last night we were supposed to have 90+6 but ref blew for end at 90+2mins and 30 seconds. Not even close to the 6 mins we should have had. Anyone else notice that?

According to the clock running on the stream that I watched, the ref blew exactly on the amount of additional time.

We had the full allotted amount. I thought we had six but didn't they make a sub and have an injury after the 90 had elapsed?

I usually keep track of the additional time on my watch. I thought I would keep a closer look as the Lee Mason was having a funny old night. I used the stopwatch function on my watch & stopped it when the subs were made & resumed before the ball was live again. In the end he blew up at about 5 mins 20 seconds. So it was just another example of poor refereeing.

I'm not sure that six minutes adequately covered everything. The feigning of injury and consequent ball chasing down and fighting took up ten minutes on its own.

Six miutes was the minimum there should have been time added for the substitutions in extra time, but the ref had a bad day at the office. He was poor all match.

The bloke behind me always times it and it was close to a minute short according to him.
It should have been more too.

maybe each prem ground should have a giant clock and an operator to stop it every time the ball is not in play.that way we all would all know and gives one less thing for incompetent refs to cock up

In rugby the official clock is visible throughout the game and stops when play is suspended for any reason. A hooter sounds when the game has run its allotted time and the game actually ends as soon as the ball goes out of play after the hooter sounds. Simple. Players and fans know how much time is left and have the "comfort of seeing that the clock actually stops when there are delays in the game. Unlike the original poster, I don't bother with a stop watch, I simply look at my watch when the added time board goes up and I made it 6 minutes plus or minus 1 minute when the final whistle blew. My advice to spitshaw would be to get a new phone - his present one is obviously rubbish!
