Overall not feeling too bad to be honest, I've taken defeats much worse then this and I usually only get to see 2 or 3 games a season so i tend to be pretty gutted when I'm there for a loss -Defence looked static to say the least, felt like they were just being walked around at times and while I've claimed the attack is our problem in the past I thought today our defending at times was very scary -Bojan I thought was, on the whole, pretty good. Very good short passing and seemed really fired up and went for everything, his final ball was a bit gash to say the least however whether that be a cross or a shot. (Also he should never be allowed to take another corner in his professional career ) -Forster and the back four seemed hopeless when it came to dealing with anything in the air and I'm not sure we really took advantage enough of that at times -Marked improvement for Arnie who seemed composed, helped out defensively and held the ball outstandingly at times -Forster gets a second mention for just being utter shit -Adam, at his introduction I thought everything he touched turned to gold, it felt like he could put a ball in the box from anywhere on the pitch. He simply has to start for us... -Crouch and Diouf both looked effective, mostly when they were both on at the same time -Finally the officials, what a useless bunch of twats. Thought it was a hard fought battle between the ref and the linesman running the Q-Railing for who was worse to be honest

Forster was wasting time with his kicks as early as the 54th min....

Forster was wasting time with his kicks as early as the 54th min.... Every set piece of theirs felt that way after Zonz's goal

I thought {having returned and seeing the highlights} that Phil Bardsley looks like Carl Pilkington. Good game. Nice to see N'Zonzi score, thought Bojan and Arnie would both have been game winners in a parallel universe somewhere. Neither are quite connecting with Earth just yet. Diouf will be mint this season, can score scrappy and spectacular. I'm not too worried just yet, though it requires patience to wait for the second half of games, and the second half of the season to see the real good stuff. Interesting journey.

Dont worry about defense were 4th best in league they said, were not scoring they said... fuckwits. Need a cb in Jan £3-5 mil easily. Problem is not the defence, it is the defending. First nd second gaols were because of failings of central midfield, too much space for Pelle behind the midfield and second complete lack of tracking of Davis by N'Zonzi. Third was a defender's fault, not sure how Pieters got into that position

Second half was the best I've seen us play this year - there was a period where we had Southampton reeeling and looked like the only team likely to win it. Arnie in second gear (hopefully moving up to third next time out), N'Zonzi moving forward, Bardsley was excellent and Diouf looked very lively - my MoM. Having said that play like we did in the first half we are in trouble.
Special mention to the officials - the one eyed wonders. Lee Mason's interception and layoff to their defender to break up our attack and set them on their way said it all.

How not a single Southampton player was booked for time wasting is beyond me.

Some good points. With Crouch out I think Diouf should start with Arnie Moses and Bojan. I'm conflicted about Bojan only because we saw yesterday against a less physical Southampton back four that he was quite up for it and able to get into them. You can be sure that up against West Ham he might not get the same treatment. James Collins and Winston Reid are two pretty mean centre halves and they're just not going to let Bojan take the piss.
I want Bojan to play but he needs to know that this is going to get physical and if he can't hack it, perhaps he should be kept for games against soft centre halves like the Arseholes.
