Come on, own up folks!? With 10 minutes left on the clock and the Potters somehow incredibly still in with a punchers chance despite having created absolutely nothing we started to build a little pressure and win a few throws in attacking positions as the Saints started to fall nervously back unsure if to stick or twist Nothing else is working, time for Plan B, launch the ball like a TRACER BULLET in to the mixer

Long throws are good, when they're not the entirety of your game plan. Ideally we'd be like we are now while also having, say, Moses capable of launching exocets into the box. Also ideally, we'd be good at attacking set pieces.

What went through my head with 10 mins. to go was,I think we could play on for another 24 hours and Stoke will still be on 0.

Every time we got a throw against Swansea it came into my head.

Whenever I see any team start to play in the last ten I always think we didn't they do that for the other 80. I know it's not really related to what you, just saying what came to mind.

Whenever I see any team start to play in the last ten I always think we didn't they do that for the other 80. I know it's not really related to what you, just saying what came to mind. I think the collective psyche of the leading team on about 80 minutes often switches from 'chase the 2nd goal to put the game out of reach to lets not lose what we have' and at that moment the trailing team suddenly have a chance! We got to this point yesterday.

Very true, but it's also application as well as reflection!

I still have that thought every time we get a throw in in the last third.

They soon became completely ineffective. Don't miss them whatsoever.

Just one example long throws were decisive throughout our 2011 FA Cup campaign, creating goals against Brighton and Huth’s header against West Ham so you are a little wide of the mark with your 2009 there although it sounded good! Anyway if you had seen what we did do instead with our throws in attacking positions yesterday you would be saying that ?

I saw the game and going back to longthrows wouldn't work. Its all being done before and wouldnt phase anyone.

Often thought so. Brought us great success, frowned on by those who couldn't defend it. And now we just throw it 10 yards and lose the fucking ball

Depends if you want to judge his effectiveness from a few poor games. You mean the first 9 of the season? That is 25% of our league games.

Our only long-throw player is Geoff is it not? I'd imagine Bardsley or Nzonzi could toss one in the mixer too. Miss the longthrow tbh.

I thought why not bring Bojan on and not Arnie who doesn't look "at it" at the minute.

Geoff has a long throw but none will ever come close to Rory's.
