He called Moses a cheat, he has apologised to him directly which has been accepted so it's done. Most of us would be happy with that, except for the compensation chasers of course.

Well, well, well, so much for "It's a waste of time complaining it never achieves anything" defeatism spouted on here a few days ago. I received a reply from the BBC re; my complaint today 'John Hartson has been made aware of the depth of feeling regarding his comments about Victor Moses by the BBC production team etc etc' in other words apologise or you can forget punditry for a living. Hartson has apologised because he's been told to not because he wanted to. Well done to all the Stokies who complained to the BBC instead of just coming on here whingeing. Not given a mention on bbc website though,in fact under stoke city and swansea sub section is the headline Slade backs punishment for cheats.Make of that what you will.

I hope this punishment for cheats, means all cheats and not just the ones who don't play for the so called big clubs.

I am pretty sure it would have been A BBC forced apology rather than a John Hartson realising he was wrong apology

This is a tremendous result and I think all those who tackled the BBC about Hartson's behaviour have got a great result.
Hartson has really been got at by whoever about his loutish behaviour and taken to task.
We may think the game is going soft, but the fact is that world wide if a defender fouls an attacker in the penalty area by grabbing him, pulling his shirt, barging, etc. and he goes down then he is liable to give a penalty.
What is the alternative? Do the authorities have to define "how much" a shirt can be pulled in the penalty area before it is sufficient to interfere with play and warrants a penalty?
I was unhappy with my reply from the BBC but now I'm satisfied Hartson has been made to repent.

Fair enough and so he should have!! Now it's up to the BBC to put it out there given he used MotD2 as the platform for his ill-considered rant.

Likewise I was not over the moon with the reply from the BBC, however the fat ginger biased welsh cunt has obviously had his ample sized arse well and truly booted, the apology should be made public seeing as the accusations he made went out on national television, the BBC have hardly covered themselves in glory either.

So Hartson the scapegoat has apologised, and fair play to him, yet the media distance themselves from this one (no apology on the BBC website from the clowns that allowed this on TV in the first place) and the premier league manager and the ref who gave the penalty are both silent on the matter.
It was a soft penalty whichever way you look at it but it's disappointing that Moses is branded a "cheat" by many, whilst players at the more popular clubs "have every right to go down".
The BBC have the rights until 2015-16, we'll probably see a return to ITV after that or potentially no highlights of the premier league on free to air TV. With the money in the premier league going up every year it's only a matter of time before the likes of the BBC and ITV are priced out of the market and the rights go to BT or Sky, it's happened with Cricket and Formula1 and they are both better for it, perhaps Football will be too?

It's not enough.
He should follow Rodney Marsh's example when he pissed off Bradford City and come up to the Brit and get his head shaved.
Then again, maybe not!

How fucking gullible are you lot! He was TOLD to apologise and behind closed doors he's probably sticking by his original thoughts! No way does he mean it!

My problem was never really with Hartson, where it was wrong was that the pundit chosen to comment on the Stoke v Swansea match is a Swansea season ticket holder. On top of that being out of order it was never mentioned on the show that Hartson is a supporter. Viewers were left thinking that this was an independent analysis of the match, when in reality it was the view of a one-eyed Jacks fan.

Next time Moses is fouled in the area and gets booed by the opposition supporters and gets nothing it will be because John Hartson slated him on national telly. No one will remember his apology as he made it in private.
