The mini series that started the ball rolling is coming back in 2016! LinkySherilyn Fenn was the hottest bird on the planet in 1990...

What a fantastic series that was. Just recently watched Fargo that reminded me of Twin Peaks for it's quirky characters.

Watching Twin Peaks at the moment, it's an absolute slog. Too many uninteresting characters, the Laura Palmer murder resolved far too quickly and there's no plot afterwards. Glorified soap opera.

It's a product of its day, and I'm not surprised you're finding it tough going. It was ground breaking at the time, and many later series owe there success to it, such as The Sopranos, Lost, Mad Men and Breaking Bad etc. You have to remember that at the time, sophisticated TV included The Thornbirds, The Love Boat and Hart to Hart...

It was a soap opera, for better or worse. That's exactly how Lynch and Frost conceived it until ABC pulled the plug. And the central mystery is only 'resolved' if you overlook the whole metaphysical/psychodrama element, which would seem a shame.

Taking into account the time it was made and the fact there was little to no precedents set for a serial TV drama like this beforehand, i still rate it as the best TV programme i've ever seen! watched it at the time then had to watch "Fire Walk with me" (not up to scratch admittedly) and god knows how many times i've seen it on DVD over the years. never get tired of it Lara Flynn Boyle, Sherilyn Fenn and Madchen Amick mmmmmmmmmmm not to forget good old Norma for the milf lovers out there!
