To be fair a lot of season ticket holders come from way off, so a long treck on a school night isn't always practicable.

newcastle took the small allocation but the club didnt move the netting as they mostly do. as the rain came in the newcastle fans moved up and across from the bottom rows to keep dry, poor loves to be fair to them they were loud first 10 minutes then quietened until the odd pardew out chant. from the southstand point of view the boothen end gets quieter and quiter every game I was in the south stand (usually sit in block 30) row 28 block 36..only heard the Boothen twice..Delilah at the beginning & Sacked in the morning towards the end. As you say quieter and quieter. Prawn crisp brigade at least!

Prawn crisp brigade at least! To be honest and a lot of people won't like this..but Stoke fans were like this before we got promoted..the only game I can remember having a cracking atmosphere was Gillingham in the play offs. And the Vic wasn't any better apart from a few years under Lou. Plus ca change etc duck ;-)

There wasn't, it was a sell out in the home end. Any empty seats were season ticket holders who didn't go (usually a few in the Family Stand as it's a school night) Did you not see the huge blocks of empty seats in the away end?? Yes I did I thought 1800 away fans on a Monday night with a 400 mile round journey was a good show. And the empty home seats were still on general sale up to kick off time. So we will fill the corners in when the match is not on tele and its not raining.Or his it we only have 20000 hard core fans.I would rather see the millions it would cost to build empty seats spent on the team.
where do you get your info from?it was sold out days before the match. there are allways a few spares knocking around on the day[returned complimentries etc]as allready mentioned most of the empty seats were in the fanatical geordie section. methinks you are fishing

There were people trying to buy tickets on the day, that were turned away. So the empty seats must be season ticket holders not turning up.

If season ticket holders cannot make the game then there should be some kind of resale system.Season ticket holder phones club saying they cannot attened, club cancel card for that game resell ticket season ticket is refund 50% of the resale valve.

Why were there 1500 empty home seats. The ticket prices were low so no excuse there. Will the club spend millions on more empty seats. Why were there 1500 empty home seats. The ticket prices were low so no excuse there. Will the club spend millions on more empty seats. Maybe a lot that would like to be there couldn't get there for other than financial reasons? Shift workers, fans that live off, ill health, who knows?

Couple of things I'm not getting here with simple Maths.... The usual Stoke sell out figure given when it's a sell out is 27 500, give or take a few hundred. Away fans usually get an 2800 allocation. Apparently Newcastle brought 1800 and it certainly looked like 1000 empty seats in the away end. So take away 1000 from 27500 sell out figure and you get to 26 500. Last night's attendance was 26 332. So this thread has been created on the back of the scandal of 168 empty home seats. Or am I missing something?

And out of interest last night's attendance was only 15 less than the Man. United game from last season so there were more Stokie's present last night than that game.
