Should have battered them. Anyway no matter we won and all that matters! So in fact we were the far better team then? 5-0? What you may be unaware of is that Colback smeared a volley into the woodwork from 5 yards "with the goal at his mercy". Lucky to escape with 3 points and not be lamenting our missed chances for another 2 points thrown away. Sent from my Nexus 5 using proboards

Personally I thought Newcastle were very poor. Some of there players didn't seem that bothered. And the ones that were bothered were more interested in kicking us.

If nzonzie puts in another transfer request for fucks sake snap his hand off! He does nothing but break down our attack and allow their defence to sort themselves out. He deserves to be dropped next week! I missed the first half today but was he really so bad? From what I saw he was perhaps getting a little more involved in the forward play today but I didn't see anything too bad from him. There was none of the turn around and pass back to bego stuff that we used to see a couple of years ago. For me he's been one of our more consistent quality players this season. I guess we all see the games through different eyes

He deserves to be dropped next week! There's such a good player in there, I think he needs a positivity coach. We've seen glimpses of him marauding forward and he looks so effortless. I just don't think he knows how good he can be...

I think he can be a fantastic player but if late he is really getting on my tits. He always seems to look for the defensive ball instead of the attacking one. Very frustrating.

Massive win. I don't think they're a bad side and for me are better than Leicester. It was good to see Arno playing well again and Bego was faultless. Thought Whelan and Moses were MOM. I'm hoping Moses came off because of cramp as for me he makes us tick and we aren't the same without him. Hopefully Diouf isn't out for too long and it's more precautionary. We're looking better now I just hope we don't sit too deep every game as I don't think my ticker can handle it. Thought the ref did us no favours and how Tiote avoided getting booked I'll never know.

That's right, of course. What about moses chance, after newcastles defense gave the ball away for free? Sure, he didn't have much time, but so didn't Colback

It might get forgotten amidst the Pardew focus but #scfc were good. Moses, Crouch etc. Hughes' counter-attacking tactics worked.

However if you can't win pretty, make sure you win. Tomorrow's chip paper will just report Stoke won and that is all.

Very pleased with the win tonight. On a side note, this gentleman visited the Norwegian Premier League studio tonight. Anyone remember him? Currently plays for the Norwegian side Start.

So happy that the 1st home win is now in the bag, although the longer the game went on their was a growing feeling of de ja vous that the lack of something to kill a team off would haunt us again. Looks like this could be the pattern for the rest of the season. Either have chance after chance after chance (as per Leicester or even QPR away) and drop points for a draw, or soak up the pressure & do the ultimate smash & grab (Man City)
However you look at it though, something good is happening & has happened at Stoke. Making Moses a permanent signing, getting Arnie into what is his undoubtedly talented groove & making sure that all the other elements the rest of the squad give click, could we make this season somthing special.

Phew!! Thank fuck for that..3 points. We really need to finish teams off don't we? If we had converted one more chance we would have a bagful. Our pace on the break at times is frightening but we struggle to get the midfield up to support it quickly enough and despite Crouch winning a lot we never seemed to be there to get the knock downs. Nzonzi is turning into a crab and needs a word, Whelan was excellent, Adam awful. Onward and Upward.

Finally learning to walk before we can run was all what was required last night and thankfully it came off and that was all what was required.
Frustrating 90 plus minutes on the whole but 3 points in the bag was all that was required which should see it getting used as a springboard.

If Arnies shot at the post had gotten in, they wouldn't have been a threat any more. So a draw in this department Arnies shot and Crouch's 2 decent opportunities. Could have been 2 or 3 more right there. We should also have had a penalty, so a draw would have been harsh.

They're ripping us apart down Muniesa's side, Assaidi offering no protection Prior to the match I did say IMO Muiesa was a risk defencively, but somehow Stoke managed a clean sheet which is brilliant. I still feel more comfortable with Pieters at LB. Brilliant result, but Stoke must start putting away their chances or there will be a lot more results like Vill, Leicester, and QPR where Stoke dominate possession and get chances but not all the points they should.

Let's also hope for less niggly behaviour from the otherwise impressive Glen W. He does not need to do it and for sure refs are going to book him at best. Before you know it he will be suspended and it is all so unnecessary.
