Super, super James, and like others on here, I was disgusted that he was jeered on his return. He ranks alongside Warey with me... a legend.

I am 57 years of age, been supporting Stoke most of my life and was at Wembley in 1972. However, that night in Cardiff was the most memorable, exciting but terrifying, fantastic game of football I have ever seen Stoke play. The importance of the game combined with the constant anti English nationalist abuse we were given throughout the game, then the mental when we scored after the bloke on the tannoy asked for their fans to stay off the pitch so the Cardiff team could do a celebratory lap of honour, all these factors give me goose pumps even now just thinking about it !!!!!

I've always toyed with having a tattoo saying 1 of 638 in recognition of those that made the journey to South Wales when all hope was (nearly) lost. However I've never been able to get official confirmation that this was the actual number that went and judging by the number of threads on this board, it appears that it was about three times that many ;-)
Anyone got the official away following so I can get inked? Also if they can provide exact figures for the beamback so the Alvechurch Assassin can get his done...
