He's such an athlete and great at breaking up play, no doubt the club's that were interested in him were looking at him playing a box to box role. The issue we have is that he's not as good as Nzonzi in that role and Whelan is extremely disciplined in his role with exceptional concentration. Think he may be a good option against the better opposition away from home in midfield or a Walters-esque wide role, but it's hard to see him displacing the two aforementioned midfielders. I reckon he'll be well on his way come January.

it's nothing to do with having Cameron at RB...it's simply to do with Wingie being missing at right wing. end of!

I would play GC instead of Walters On the wing? fuck it...according to enough people on here Cameron is either a RB, CB, CM or now a winger and despite not playing in most of those positions for us ever, he's apparently "earned" a chance to try out in any of those positions and displace our first teamers for those spots simply because he's been loyal and is a thoroughly good egg! sod it, i'm putting him in goal for my dream team next week i reckon. welcome to "The Oatcake's tribute to Pulis-esque formations" aka the Square peg society!! beggars belief some of the shit on here when we have 2 recognised players in each position to compete for places nowadays and given the criticism of TP for shoehorning players in....and then you get people suggesting Cameron (who can't cross) on the bloody wing

Yeah but Bardsley can't cut in from the right and curl in a cross with the outside of his right foot !!!
Then again neither can Geoff ( smiley )
