Anyone else think that we've got a much bigger threat on the right wing with cameron in the squad instead of bardsley?

A key member of our squad and did us proud in the world cup -I look forward to seeing Gcam return to compete for a place
(get well soon fella!)

In answer to the question, no.
But wouldn't mind seeing him given a run in midfield with Whelan.

On ManC performance I'd pick Bardsley when there is a defending job to be done.
On yesterday's performance I think Geoff might be a better choice when attacking sides. Mind you Stoke did create an lot of scoring chances yesterday, it was the finishing that was dire and that is not Bardsley's or Cameron's strong point.

Anyone else think that having a right back who can actually defend is more important than one who can do a bit of skill to cut inside and then provide a shite cross?

Yes. He's a much better attacking player than Bardsley.

Positive angle is at right back as well as many other positons these-days -we have two players competing for pretty much every position in the team
which is good for us surely ?
as for which is best - the manager decides based upon what he sees week in week out

Anyone else think that we've got a much bigger threat on the right wing with cameron in the squad instead of bardsley? I think he's a better attacking option at RB to create movement in midfield by darting down the line behind a winger to make the midfield more fluid and less stagnant to move to get open. Bardsley is a threat as well but he is very conservative in dribbling at opponents say than Geoff. We need movement and if its a stint in the midfield or on the wing or rb he's a viable option to increase our build up speed from the back. Were complacent, slow and not taking on players in the midfield and especially at the back so far this season. Hughes sub of Muniesa for Pieters to attack thier RB was too little to late. We left our better defenfers on who were overlapping and are very straight ahead fullbacks instead of Muniesa and Cameron who are far better at cutting in with a winger in a one two. Bless him but Walters is no Odemwingie or Arnie at playing off a rushing fullback. It was a double fault for us imo.

Bardsley put quite a few dangerous crosses in yesterday. Bardsley or Cameron selection is much of a muchness to me, Cameron's better on the ball but but Bardsley's better defensively and a better crosser.

I like the fact that they have different things to offer. Cam is my first choice but Bardsley is better than I gave him credit for. Both can do a job for us to be fair.
I would like to see Geoff in matches we choose to attack more, but if Sparky does try to give him time in a more central role, I feel much more confident in Bardsley holding down RB.

Maybe. But, a different right back yesterday would not have changed the result.

Geoff moves better with the ball but Bardsley's crossing is better as (more importantly) is his defending.
I honestly think Bardsley has been very solid so far and not done much wrong at all.

Cameron is very good at taking the ball forward, but crossing is unfortunately one of his weaker points. Switching off defensively at times is the other problem, but all in all still a good player for us. Think I prefer Bardsley though as I trust his defending more.

Its nice to have a proper right back that knows how to play the position, Cameron shouldn't ever play there again unless we are desperate, and should be left to push for a midfield or centre back spot (when fit).

Yeah I wouldn't displace Bardsley, he's done well. And yet I want to see Geoff in the side somewhere.

Defending and going forward.

Cam probably edges it attacking wise, but Bardo has a hell of a shot on him and I think he'll score more.

Geoff has to play, contributed massively last season, anyone who doesnt rate him there is mad. Great going forward, even if he does overuse the outside of the boot cross.
We've made mistakes, by breaking up a winning formula too much.

We've made mistakes, by breaking up a winning formula too much. He cant cross for shit and doesn't know how to play right back, give him a chance and let him fight it out in a position he can play, CB or CM. Cameron not in the side has nothing to with us losing.

I like Cameron but he was never a right back before he came to Stoke and he never looks comfortable there. Bardsley has looked the part since the season started and he should keep his place unless/until he f*cks up on a regular basis.
Cameron deserves a chance to show what he can do in midfield - either in the Whelan or NZonzi roles. He's no Ya Ya Toure but as his last game in the World Cup showed, he has the potential to be a good athletic midfielder in the holding or box to box roles. If he can justify a place in the squad as a midfield option who can also play in the back 4 in emergency then he will remain a valuable member of the squad.
