No this is nothing about the Pulis years What team have you been to see alone or with a friend that you were in their away end and felt 'wrong'
For me sadly it was with Wolves twice in the 80's with a good friend of mine. They scored in both games, ( I didn't celebrate) and I even went to Wembley with him when they were in the autoglass trophy too :-( Oh the Shame GD

Nothing far flung, away end with my Crewe mate at the vale. Funny watching two sets of Neanderthals goading each other!

I was at Chelsea a couple of years ago with a crowd of about 30 Chelsea fans (who didnt know I was a Stokie), sat right to the left of the Stoke fans and held my head in my hands when Drogba scored late in the second half!!

I'm doing the 92 so I've stood in a few grounds that I didn't really want to.
I also try and get tickets amongst the more vocal home fans to add a bit of spice and danger to the occasion.

I was there. Can't for the life of me remember why. Can't even remember who won and can't be arsed to look it up. All I remember is that I had to become a member of the Wolves supporters club to get a ticket. Now that is dirty!

I was in the away end with a friend at Coventry on the Boskamp-De Koning-Rudge argument night. Great view of Taggart's belter from behind the goal although I kept my celebrations low key.

When I lived in Aylesbury, saw them v Chorley Town in the FA Cup circa 1989 Villa v Blackburn 1997 in an exec box, but fell asleep. Most boring match I ever saw West Ham v Liverpool when Mick Ruggles had "cheap" tickets. Sat behind a girder and cost me £60 for the day. Don't trust Mick Ruggles.
Much rather see the Potters, win or lose. Got to love that Red and White.

Spurs v Villa in the mid 90's (Spurs end) Man Utd v Man City about 2004 (Man Utd end) Leeds v Bolton in the mid 90's (Leeds end)
All with mates who supported the teams where we sat,and all three times I was bored out of my skull. Going to watch a football match where you don't give a flying shit who wins is fucking crap and I wouldn't recommend it at all.

Was based in Gosport 85-88 and used to attend Fratton Park and The Dell quite often. Best memory was seeing Stoke beat Pompey 3-0 in obscure competition. Would have been late Oct 88.

In the 90's I went to watch Vale vs. Arsenal with a vale girl who I was trying to pot the pink with. The game went to pennos. Tankard smashed his pentalty over which is probably still in orbit somewhere now and vale lost. I really wrestled with the idea of going beforehand and felt proper dirty about it.
But not as dirty as her, she banged like a shithouse door in a force 10 huricane
Which was nice!

Saw Vale play West Ham in FA Cup 73 if I remember rightly, Bobby Moore played that day, they won 1-0, I was in away end at Vale with my Dad.

Thankfully we were 3-0 down when Fuller got on the end of Dicko's cross to grab our consolation goal so none of the home fans minded me jumping up and celebrating.

Used to get invited to my mates annual shindig which was in the 'executive' seats at Fratton Park, before Pompey had any money, I was bored shitless every time, had to have a bet to make it remotely interesting, I only really went for the piss up after. I've also travelled away with them on mates stag do's, same again, actual games bored me shitless. Possibly the worst case of feeling dirty was at Wembley in the WBA v Vale play off final, we could only get tickets in the Vale end and a couple of mates had their faces painted in WBA colours with blue wigs on, oh the fun we had

When I was about 19 a bloke in the factory where I worked offered me a lift and a seat in a box for Liverpool vs Blackburn in the Prem. This was when we languished in the 3rd division and a Premier League match at Anfield was distant glitz and glamour, but still I politely declined the offer, saying I was going to Stoke at home instead. When I told my old man about the offer he told me I was mental and persuaded me to get up to Anfield. The game ended 0-0 (Jason McAteer broke his leg, for those with a keen memory) and I've felt guilty about it ever since.
