One year loan - Man Utd too busy to process this yesterday?

they submitted the paperwork yesterday but the FA and Prem had to confirm whether it was actually submitted in time. i'd imagine they'd have dealt with paperwork in order of when it came through so if this was last minute then it makes sense it would take longer to confirm it was done in time.the deal was very very last minute as Everton left it so late to pull out of their deal with the player

It's about time they went back to the old system. It wasn't broken and it didn't need to be fixed.
We certainly didn't get Sky reporters outside training grounds suffering battery by dildos.

I assume you refer to Manu for getting rid of him? Villa have now got another nondescript in their ranks. Relegation looms.

Neither, it was intended to be a clever play on words with "Clever" and "Cleverly" but it seems as I feared it missed the target They do have another nondescript in their ranks its true but they also have 7 points from 9, 3 of them courtesy of us which does grind my gears I must confess!

So far Villa look like they're going to do a lot better than many people (myself included) thought this year.

So far Villa look like they're going to do a lot better than many people (myself included) thought this year. Wolves got 7 points from the opening 9 available and got relegated. I doubt that will happen to Villa but we can but hope! :-) Close away fixture but an absolute fucking rip off!

So far Villa look like they're going to do a lot better than many people (myself included) thought this year. you might want to re-visit that quote after our next 5 games ,L'pool A, Arsenal H, Chelsea A, Man C H and Everton A on the subject of Cleverly, decent signing as long as they didnt pay him the 60k+ he wanted at first

The Guardian report of this transfer does make it sound as if they were very lucky to get him after the deadline. According to the Guardian, ALL the discussions between Villa and Man U BEFORE the deadline related to a permanent transfer which broke down over personal terms. Then a similar breakdown occurred between Everton and the player. It was only after the deadline that a Villa deal was resurrected as a loan - which meant he would continue to draw his Man U wages.
The way I see it - the loan negotiations did not start until after the deadline and so should not have been approved - clearly the deadline time table was not complied with in any way.

Too many average young players at big clubs not prepared to drop wages to play football elsewhere.
