Talksport - Nowhere on site to be seen 8m = Too low (by a long shot) Everton - Not good enough for him to consider (would lose his captaincy) Timing - 1 day before window closes - fucks up our team
Seems to me like some rascal is having a little fun.

It would be so Stoke 48 hours after Saturday but I honestly believe we are part that stage the simple economics are we dont need the money, he has a contract has given no indication and they have spent their cash. On Lukaku . They do have two ageing centre halves though but I would not rule out us finishing above them Europa , etc

Homzy's tweet is interesting and i do believe him. Yeah - no reason to disbelieve that Homzy's heard something. But we haven't even got a decision to make until any bidding gets around £15m. Plus a deadline day premium of a few mill. Realistically, can't see it happening.

@homzy: Apparently there are two clubs interested in signing Ryan Shawcross before the deadline. But it'd take a daft offer for Stoke to sell. So long as one isn't Manure, I'm confident that Ryan will still be a Stoke City player come Tuesday morning.

Stein to Chelsea for a mil then a year later Collymore went to liverpool for 8.5 mil and there wasnt a great deal in difference in the amount of goals scored but Stan was a little younger

If someone stumped up £18-20m, I'd be tempted to accept for the sake of his career IF he wanted to go to a top club.
But I can't see anyone putting down anywhere near that.
And where we'd look for a replacement with 24 hours left is anyone's guess.

I can't see Ryan going anywhere. He and Huth are one of the best defensive partnerships in the prem.

I think it'd have to be £15m+and one of the Manchester clubs involved if this was to happen, hopefully not, especially not on the last day of the window. He's better than Everton.

The price has to take into account the facts that:
a) He's a very, very good centre back.
b) He's been a virtual ever present in the Premier League for six seasons.
c) He's only 25.
d) He's our captain.
e) It's deadline day.
f) It's deadline day and we have no other front line centre backs going into the remainder of the season.
g) He has an England cap.
h) His stock is pretty high at the moment.
i) We are in a good financial position and are under no pressure to sell.
j) He's English.
On that basis, £20,000,000 is too low and we shouldn't settle for less than £25,000,000. With two interested parties, let's get a bidding war going.

I have a horrible feeling United will try their luck!! How horrific their defence is right now I can see Sir Alex putting in a recommendation...... and I think they are one of the very few that he would leave us for!

You obviously are privvy to information that I'm not Johnno, but I was just commenting on the fact that some people don't believe Everton to be a step up. I'd like to think that Shawcross would only leave for one of the top four but in reality he owes us nothing and if a club like Everton did come in with a bid we accepted,it wouldn't surprise me if his head was turned,as Everton are a big club especially compared to us. As far as the fee is concerned, then I would hope that in today's inflated market we wouldn't even contemplate an offer under £15 million. Everton are a big club for sure mate but in truth, we have just as much chance of winning something as they do. It would be a sideways move at best for Ryan in my opinion. You're wrong. Everton are in the Europa league and we aren't so they have more chance of winning something than we do

If the other one is man utd it might get a bit tougher but its still a £70 million risk and that would seriously damage the sustainability plan net of any fee whatever the number just thinking about him standing watching the Stoke fans yesterday

But he's just what they need And if he's looked at that mess he's got, he may be advised that there's a guy at Stoke who'll head and kick everything that moves and who'd crawl over broken glass to play for them again? Hope not!

Maybe we should have played a boring game yesterday and lost. Man u would be tempting for Ryan but surely the club would not let him go at the moment. His best chance of an England recall is if he is playing regularly - unlikely at one of the very top clubs
