Watched Wilson and Shawcross today with a bit more of an eagle eye given the pressure they were under in the first half and the dodgy nature of our back 5 in the first two games
Very good to see both of them were talking and pointing throughout. Both of their positional play was excellent and both gave each other encouragement throughout
Also very good to see the old Begovic re-appear - shouting and clapping his defence constantly
Shawcross was immense, but so was Wilson

Fair play to Wilson but I do worry - in general, really - but they have done well broadly speaking but...I love this Moses guy...he looks just what we need...off the subject but he could suit us down to the ground.

Agreed , the same back 4 were unrecognisable from the previous two games , but why ?
It's a funny old game as they say !

Still wouldnt have Wilson over Huth. He played well today but we had men behind the ball at all times. When we attack in games and our defence can become exposed and thats when I worry with him. Plus Huth is always a threat from corners

That's the problem with Wilson...he's unreliable.
You know how he's going to play after 5 minutes and today you could see instantly that there was an urgency to his defending.
He wasn't half asleep like he was in our first 2 league fixtures.

He wasn't half asleep like he was in our first 2 league fixtures. Maybe - but the manager clearly believes in him. The first two games, Shawcross and Wilson did not communicate enough. Today they did, constantly. If that continues I see no reason to change it

He definitely has his moments of lapse in concentration, but today he showed how good he can be. He deserves to start again with Shawcross until we are only dropping points in games because of Wilson only. He offers a lot more than Huth with the ball and provides better balance too; there is a chance that he could become a strong player for us and we should give him that chance.

In my opinion, Wilson's main problem has always been concentration. He switches off three or four times every game, and this costs us on occasions. In a game against Man City, there's no time to do this. If you could cut out that deficiency in his game, he's a better fit than Huth.

He's never been any different in my opinion. I'm not sure I've ever seen such a trait in a professional footballer before. Something I've never noticed to be fair until recently. It's rare you get it in centre halves. More a trait of a flair player or winger.

Out of a fully fit Huth and Wilson I would go with Huth every time. But the wall is still coming back to full fitness. Wilson doesn't deserve to be dropped after today. He should start againstnLeicester and if he fucks up then be dropped the next game with Huth replacing him. That's the only way to play it isn't it?
On another note, Ryan. Just Ryan. My all time favourite player. Coming to us as young lad hungry for first team football so leaving the biggest club in England to come to the championship. Several seasons on he's still here as captain and one of the best centre halfs in the premier league, never mind the country. Man of integrity and a fucking fantastic footballer to boot.

The premise of the post and observation is, when they talk to each other, they both feed off each other. It did not happen for the first two games but it did today The last few games of last season, Wilson was very good, because they did what they did today

It's a funny old game as they say ! watching the game I think part of the defensive display was us having the 2 wingers willing to come back and defend and took in, where as if arnautivic had been on left wing this would not have happened excellent display all round and tbh I feared a cricket score if we played like we did against hull

I'm surprised Huth hasn't come back into the side to replace Wilson but LMH knows best.I agree Wilson is better on the ball & distributing & that probably gives him the edge with LMH.Huth is probably the better defender and would always be first choice with TP.

Wilson is a fine player as I said last timeout he would grace any squad outside the top 4

Wilson is probably the best allround footballer in our defence, but he can be his own worst enemy at times! Sometimes he becomes to complacent or switches off for a second, but all in all a very good player.

As much as it may upset folk after a fantastic win yesterday this is 100% bang on. Rubbish - last few games of the previous season he was very good and the game when Shawcross was suspended he took charge Both he and Shawcross were ropey the first two games, but yesterday they were both excellent and communicated Wilson is keeping Huth out and stepped in when Huth was injured and in the main has done very well

Do not be surprised if Huth goes out on loan for a few months. ( if Geoff is back quickly )

Shawcross had a monster but pretty hard to knock Wilson. A very good performance and an excellent decision not to drop him at this time against a good Man City team.
