Being a child of the 90's, I seem to remember may owd mon buying this separately and the paper it's self was green. Was this the case?
If so, it's better than the 5 pages they stick in the middle of the Weekend Sentinel.

Nice one, at least I wasn't dreaming it. Why did they stop it? Out of curiosity.

The Green un was a great paper and heaven knows why they stopped it. A staple of my upbringing as a young stokie.
Saturday night was a trip out to see family, green un, home, read, MOTD (dreaming of watching the Potters on it!).

There was a couple of 'Green Un' papers around the country. Sheffield had one until recently but the paper version stopped last year and went entirely online. Didn't the Sentinel bring back a version of it not so long ago?
I think Ipswich had one too, while Norwich might have had a 'Pink Un'

There was an Evening Gazette Green for years in Blackpool...Now sadly defunct , there was also a Manchester Evening News Pink available ....think that's gone west as well ....a great shame they used to be an integral part of Saturday evenings

But was the paper green? I have this nostalgic image of my dad throwing the carrot peelings in the compost bin wrapped in a green newspaper!

Happy memories there. Yes it was most certainly Green, used to hit the newsagents about 6pm on Saturday, most of it was just recycled from the Friday Evening sentinel, i.e Readers Letters, Local Footy News, but was great for quick post match reports and full results service....
