There are too many skeletons in the cupboard for Blatter to let any one else in. He's also created a network of equally corrupt members around the world, making his nomination and subsequent election a formality if he decides that is what he wants.
Platini, has been sitting in waiting. I am sure he knows what is going on, he may even be part of it, but he is unable to do anything about taking over. Platini said he would stand against Blatter's re-election. But that would be suicide and when the moment came, he backed down. All he can do is sit around waiting for Blatter to die, because that is the only time the position will become available for anyone other than Blatter.

Fifa has to be the most corrupt sports body, even worse than f1. The FA and other national bodies put up with it which reflects badly on them.
