First match since Okie returns and we lose. We won the lot when Okie was gone. WHAT A BASTARD! You must draw your own conclusions as to whether that was a coincidence or not ? Personally I don't think so It's not is coincidence. We thrashed India then we get thrashed? Okie

We're bloody awful at the one day format. 10 years behind the rest of the world still thinking 250 is a par score when 300 is the norm these days. In this format Cook needs to go, as does Bell and Tredwell. I'd go with the following:
Moeen Ali Alex Hales Joe Root James Taylor Eion Morgan (c) Ravi Bopara Jos Buttler (wk) Abdul Rashid Stuart Broad Steve Finn James Anderson
Ballance, Vince, Stokes, Woakes and Jordan waiting in the wings - least that team has got plenty of variety with some real powerful strikers, Cook's strike rate in the current climate is bordering on embarrasing....

You'd have a better chance with that 11 - but still not good enough. Bopara has always flattered to deceive, a down market Bell! Ali hasn't done anything with the bat to deserve a place. Stick Roy in to open, and add Ballance at three and I think we'll be closer.

Alastair Cook says Graeme Swann a 'so-called friend' after criticismApart from Cook's bleating, this quote tells you all you need to know about Captain Cock Up; In other words "after years of failure under my leadership, I'm going to continue to regardless". Sorry Mr Cook - the game is bigger than you. Shame Moores doesn't have the balls to do his job - which is to prepare a team that can compete in ODIs.

Roy's not a bad shout definitely should be in for the T20's, Bopara whilst hit and miss is a handy bowler to have as well as being a better striker of the ball than Bell in the shorter format. Either scenario would be better than the current set up though...

Sorry Mr Cook - the game is bigger than you. Shame Moores doesn't have the balls to do his job - which is to prepare a team that can compete in ODIs. He's done it for 3.5 years and NOW they're going to build up to the World Cup. Utter bollocks by Cook, he's hasn't got the tools to play the modern one day game and he should accept that and stop being so deluded/arrogant (whichever it is)

Dear God ........It just gets worse on here ....The once enjoyable England cricket threads , have descended into the Alistair Cook disaffection society ....the constant vilification of the character and ability of one if England's finest cricketers is sad and disappointing .......Enough of it for me I'm afraid , I shall continue to view the state of play from behind the confines of the boundary ropes ......may we all enjoy the rest of the series and perhaps an England win , that would ruffle a few of the feathers of the anti - Cook vultures to be sure .
