The quicker we get Ryan and Rob back together the better as far as I'm concerned.

Maybe a spell on loan would give Robert match time and the chance to see how he would cope in 90 minutes competitive football. I would give Cameron a chance next to Ryan, he did well in most of his World Cup games. Did well !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Every single goal USA conceded in the group stages was the fault of Cameron. rhodyrampage.com/2014/07/02/grading-geoff-camerons-performance-world-cup/USA did qualify from the group against the odds (USA did concede v Germany although he was omitted from the team He made key errors v Portugal, was OK v Belgium both countries have some of the very best attacking players in the world! Just an opinion I don't see Huth returning

Wilson is a woeful centre half. Makes 2 to 3 mistakes a match at least. Very very slow. Ball watches, doesn't talk, can't mark. Do we need to go on. Huth is by far superior centre half. I think Wilson has some merit, as our form at the end of last season showed, but I agree about Huth being first choice.

Geoff was dropped from the USA defence after 2 games and was then slotted into midfield for the knockout game. In my view he had a mixed WC.

I think last year the rest of the team were flying so it was less noticeable. Begovic and Shawcross on top form hide him quite well but they have started slowly this year in my opinion. Full backs flying forward also expose the two centre halves.

Cameron played that well at centre back that he was dropped from the team and then returned in central midfield. Fucking ace he was.

It has to be Huth or a new signing if he isn't fit enough.

Can't see Hugh being excluded if there is any chance of him getting fit. Still think Muniesa is a possibility as does Text. Not Wilson for me other than a stop gap short term and definitely not Cameron.

He could stay, have a bad game, then we'd have threads saying he should be 'fucked off'.
So he might as well go.

I wish Robert was fit for all of last season. We finished 9th with the worst centre half in the world. Losing out on Champions League because of an injury is a bit galling.
It really is amazing this message board. We've got twonks on other threads baying for the return of players who contributed very little to our most successful season for decades but want others who DID CONTRIBUTE cast aside.
Will people please make their minds up.

The manager agreed at right back, seemingly he's balled that up. Lets see what happens at centre half.

Shawcross covered both of their arses constantly last season alongside Bego being on top form. Cameron has already been replaced, how is this so based on our good season last season! Hopefully the same will go for Wilson.

Our beloved Captain certainly appears to possess superhuman powers to some on this board. Amazing how nobody else (outside of the club) seems to notice it

That doesn't mean he is shit in that position. He came in for a massive crowd favourite and grew into the role. I thought he was steady enough and I don't think we have anyone better in the squad, including Robert Huth.

No the evidence for that is in the goals he is at fault for conceding and his general lack of defensive nous. Muniesa and Huth are both miles better. If the manager doesn't think so, we desperately need a new centre half.

A 1 month loan option would appeal to me as it will let Huth get fitness and game time away from premiership, would be very disappointed if we sold him

If we sell Bobby Huth and keep Wilson, I'm gonna get a season ticket at Sheffield FC.

If Huth is fit and LMH sells him to a Championship club then I'm afraid I will be really worried about our football club. Honestly think we'll be relegated if Wilson plays 20+ games at centre half. God forbid if Geoff ends up there. Correct me if I'm working but he played more than that last year in our best spell of football for many a year. I would like a new centre half altogether tbh to play with Ryan as clearly something is the matter with huth either his knee is not right or the manager doesn't rate him it's one or the other obviously

Hughes seems to prefer Wilson, and probably muniesa to both Huth and Cameron. Plus he'll want to develop teixiera, and Cameron is a utility player giving him more options for the rest of the bench. So, if he's not going to play, yet has one of the highest salaries at our club, might as well sell him.
Of course assuming there is interest, because the same could be said for palacios, but no one would touch him with a ten foot pole!

If Shawcross gets injured & we've sold Huth I'd fear the worst. 2 from Cameron, Wilson, Muniesa & Teixeira for any length of time scares me.

Wilson looks and feels like a stop gap, whether he plays at centre back, left back, right back or midfield. He's ok and steady enough, but he does give away goals and he's a long way off the standard set by his partner. If you lose Shawcross, then ideally you would still have one proper, mid-table quality centre-back to play alongside a player like Wilson. He's a decent enough back up in a few positions, but he really shouldn't be going into a season as our first choice centre-back. I'd like Huth to have a go there, but if not then I think we do need a proper centre-back in.

They carried him and massively so. I think Hughes at the minute is just making too many mistakes, this is one of them.

I love awards me! Wilson was carried massively last season like Geoff. The manager has replaced one of them despite from the likes of yourself WD saying he was brilliant etc, that brilliant the first signing we made was to replace him.... And he will need to replace the other. If it's one thing I can do, it's spot a shite defender from a mile off. Wilson isn't a centre half. Thankfully like with your mate Danny, others are following where I lead!
