Still in shock
Who decided we would invent walking football??
Another below par performance from all on the pitch
Each one at one time or another misplaced basic passes
No pace and no movement
Defence a mess, midfield zero mobility and forward line totally isolated
A very notable thing was no one seems to talk to each other on the pitch
Oh well, stole a point

I don't think it was as bad as many are making out, you included.
Granted it wasn't great and we lacked the quality in our performance that we know we have but 11 v 11 we were the better side. Until they scored, with their only shot of the game I think, it was one way traffic.
I thought Hull were a decent side in their late season visit to the Brit last season and they were well drilled and resiliant again today.
We struggled to break them down and our key players (Arnie and Wingie) were really poor but we dominated the play throughout, forced their keeper into 2 excellent saves 2nd half and had 2 other good chances to score as well as equalising.
As I say it wasn't great but it was nowhere near as bad as some are making out.
I'd bet any amount of money that I can afford that we will finish higher than both Hull and Villa come the end of the season.

Asmir caught 2 crosses and that was it. We were on the front foot, a few things didn't drop, Diouf made 4 or 5 great runs which weren't spotted by Sidwell or Whelan, he looked to be through when harshly judged to have fouled their bloke and we were clean through on goal when their lad was sent off. All inside 15 minutes.

Another below par performance from all on the pitch Each one at one time or another misplaced basic passes No pace and no movement step forward Ryan. As captain with performances like that id like to see him not only talking on the pitch but grabbing some by the throat. I'd like see him pull a marker pen out of his sock and go up to arnie and give him another tattoo with rocket down one arm and arse down the other. id like see him grab nzonzi in the centre circle, spin him 180 degrees and tell him that's the way we're kicking. basically I want to see a leader on the pitch. I'd like to think they are all vocal and can sort it out which I'm sure we will. Defence a mess, midfield zero mobility and forward line totally isolated A very notable thing was no one seems to talk to each other on the pitch Oh well, stole a point

I went today and once again it was typical of the bad performances from last season , far too slow with nobody prepared to take any responsibility until Adam came om , Bojan had a few good moments but went way too deep for the ball we do not seem to have had a good pre season , both Villa and Hull seemed sharper than us . I think we wil be fine after another slow start . One of the sad things is that Arnie seems back to where he was a year ago after a great end to last season , destined for the bench once Moses is fit at this rate

OK - we will have to disagree on that One thing is for sure, our game plan fell to pot when they went to 10 At least the manager sees it that way anyway "We didn't create enough chances for the superiority in numbers we had. We are not hitting where we were last season. We wanted to hit the ground running but we haven't quite done that. We didn't deserve a great deal so we are a bit grateful."

We weren't great but were nowhere near as bad as some are making out. There were some positives. Ryan got on the scoresheet and he needs to score more often, Bardsley and Pieters were excellent I thought and whilst some have criticised him again, I thought N'zonzi fought the midfield battle manfully on his own. Bojan picked up some good spaces but we weren't quite good enough to get the ball to him often enough but he looked great on the ball (2 crosses should have bought goals for both Diouf and Crouch yet we didn't have a shot from either) and Adam was very good when he came on as well. We'll be fine. Odemwingie clearly wasn't fit or sharp so his was an important 90 mins under his belt whilst Arnie needs to realise that he's a marked man this season and needs to both man up and stop being so god damn casual in his play.

I like Pieters but he was torn to bits by Elmohamday. Really? Their best player was Huddlestone and offensively, none of their players caused us problems consistently. I don't recall Elmohamady getting past Pieters at all. I took my lady today and she thought Erik was our best player. She also thought Bojan and Adam were good.

I think 11 v 11 would have suited us better but the trouble is the way Hull set up after going to 10 men will be like many others we face at home this season - men behind the ball, soaking up our lumbering attacks. We need some decisive, fast movement otherwise we will struggle to break anyone down. Not saying it won't happen in time and with Moses playing his part and hopefully Adam(no speed but he is able to play the killer ball) starting more often it should become a more regular feature but today it was woeful at times.

Solid away performance only let down by a goal keeping error Solid? Solid? There was nowt solid about that performance whatsoever! Bego was at full stretch, there were enough defenders prior to the goal to have dealt with that move. Maybe he could have done better but he ain't the one to blame for that goal.

Hull were the better team before the sending off and deserved at least a draw. We were pretty clueless throughout....again !

Our possession play is far better last season, and this, but we need to inject a bit of pace, cleverness this season. We seem to want to keep the ball,at a snails pace, and try to pull defenders out of position, which is not happening.
In all my years of watching Stoke, that first 45 minutes of arnys performance, has got to rank up there as the worst,he was atrocious, and his head kept going down.

I have to say also, that considering Hull hardly had an attack, our defense looked well dodgy,as a unit, god help us next week if we play like this.
Any positives so far, i realy cant think of any
Main negative, Diouf looks awful to me,his whole body language shows me he cannot get into goal scoring positions at the moment, and Bojan, i am speechless to say anything, good or bad.
