Proves again that he makes things happen and he should be starting every week.
I think half of our fans want to see him shipped out in favour or Ireland!

Looked like a player with a point to prove. Charlie Adam simply has to start from now on. Two sub appearances and two man of the match awards says it all really.

Fair play to Charlie.
He can be a liability at times, but looks to be the player most likely to make things happen for us at the minute.
Deserves a start

Nzonzi out? You jest, surely?
It has to be Whelan, Sidwell or Ireland first!?

If only he could last 90 minutes, he definitely drives us forward though when we're chasing the game

Always been a Charlie fan. However, you can only play him in a midfield 3. The other problem is his fitness. When he was playing regularly middle of last season, he seemed to have sorted it. You could see today though, even with coming on as a sub, he looked knackered towards the end. Last season I felt he was better than Ireland, but Ireland worked better for the team.
I would start Adam next week, because we can play 3 in the middle away against City. We aren't going to be creating much against them, so letting Adam take a few shots from distance may be our best bet.

Why was he dropped from the line up in the first place? We were talking about a player of the year contender last season. He scored 8 goals, some real belters. He does drive the team forward, rather than N'zonzi who puts the team in reverse.

One decent shot & hes a starter? I would say he is better than Sidwell who to be quite frank is wank.

I don't get how Whelan, Ireland and Sidwell can be in front of Adam. He makes things happen instead of just standing still passing 5 yards left or right like most of our team!

Never been keen on him, too many basic flaws in his game ..... but at the minute he is probably our best bet and should be in the side.

He does drive the team forward, rather than N'zonzi who puts the team in reverse. He was dropped, basically, because we play 4-2-3-1. He can't play in that 2 because he can't tackle to save his life. In the more advanced role, Ireland works better. I myself prefer Charlie as a player, but unless you change to a 4-3-3 or a 5-3-2 then he will be sub at least against better teams and away from home, otherwise we will just get run over in CM.

Unlucky not to score, at least he wanted the ball, too many players today hiding from it.
Sending off didn't help us at all, they sat back & we haven't got a clue how to break teams down sitting back.

It's never a positive thing when you rely on systems that keep your best players on the sidelines. Particularly when the system so slavishly adhered to has failed to manufacture a single meaningful chance in two games of football against to deadly average sides. Adam plays and fuck the rest of the over thinking.

when he came on he was very impressive, and I would base my team around him, N'Zonzi( who had a magnificent first half), and Odem, who admittedly tailed off a bit in the second half, the defence maybe needs some tweeks

Adam and Moses absolutely have to start the next few games imo. The service to Diouf has been absolutely woeful.

He hasn't started a league game since March though. And, to be honest, I can't see that changing. Either he trusts him to start or he goes. Not sure it suits him or us to have a 40,000 a week man as the bloke we send on for 20 minutes when we're losing as a shot to nothing

Not sure it suits him or us to have a 40,000 a week man as the bloke we send on for 20 minutes when we're losing as a shot to nothing In fairness though FM up until his red card in March he pretty much nailed a place, regularly completing 90 mins. We need his drive and his will to win. I have said for months now that at times it is like there is no leader out there, they are all looking at each other and thinking you do it! Charlie is a must for me, we need a few more with his attitude (on the pitch that is ) As for Diouf, if he hadn't been unfairly pulled for a foul, he goes through and scores you see a totally different side of him, never mind a different result. Fine margins. Improvement needed though and quickly.

Different players suit different styles of play and also different players. Adam has more attacking impetus than Ireland and isn't frightened to have a go himself either , which Ireland is very reluctant to do. He gives us more options than Ireland and will suit Bojan and Diouf better I think.

Just rotate them depending on form, fitness and who the opposition is. That is one of the benefits of having a strong squad. Both are useful players. I have always preferred Charlie but Ireland suited us better towards the end of last season.

He's grown on me a lot. It's a weird one - his passing is hit and miss and his delivery is pretty wretched, but he gives us the shot in the arm and impetus that we need at times. His presence on the pitch seems to indicate a change in approach, a halt to a willingness to just pass it around nicely, but to drive forwards. He is, of course, always good for a matchwinning goal.
The conundrum with him is the same as ever. Bojan asides, most of our players slot neatly into the Hughes interpretation of 4-5-1. To have Adam as a regular starter, the team has to be built around him, with a couple of water carriers. You lose N'Zonzi and Ireland. You have to throw away the blueprint for this season. You have to accept his limitations. I know it's not as if our other midfield options don't come with limitations and faults, but they seem to be more pronounced with Adam.

Adam very direct, and what we need at the moment, I loved one of his passes to the left wing today, he has great vision
