Chuffed to bits for the lad especially after some of the absolute drivel posted on here about him. He was superb today! Absolutely Dave. That was one of the best goals I've ever seen a Stoke City player score and we've seen fans writing him off after a couple of games. Shame on them! I'm so pleased for Mame. You could see how much it meant to him and how pleased the rest of the players were for him as they joined in the celebrations.

Shock, horror. Come on a bigger man would admit he's been a know nothing toss pot. Sorry but I think he has no ball control, he doesnt react quick enough, and he got lucky today.he missed a far easier chance 10 minutes later.i could have saved that shot myself . I've read bollocks about Shawcross being dropped then I read this utter piss. Seriously, what's fucking up with people on here?

I think it's fair game to point out that anyone posting things like 'Mame Biram Pericard' looks quite the dickhead tonight. Do they, because before today he did, you are allowed to comment on people being poor in a game you know. Looks much better with space to run into rather than a loan striker. Yeah they do, because they'd written off a player with his record after two games for the club, a move which can be filed under 'pretty fucking stupid'.

Our players seem a close knit group and the manager is fantastic. Asked about his ambitions for the season he didn't hesitate in saying top 10 and long term to turn us into consistent top half finishers. Not a mention of 40 points in sight. Its bloody marvellous! :-)

Drop him for the city game and play Arnie, odemwingie (st) & Moses. Odemwingie has the eye for goal and will take players on which Diouf doesn't seem to do, Moses will be a gamble but has done it for palace and Wigan and Arnie is just having a poor start to the season..... Thank god you don't manage the team! Have you lot finished spouting shit now? Embarrassing reading from people who know fuck all.

He's been a bit isolated the last two games - I think having Crouch up there with him helped him yesterday.
The finish he had yesterday wasn't easy at all, there was only one or two places that shot could have gone to result in a goal and he did it.

It was an absolutely brilliant goal.
Pace, power, balance, skill and composure.
Perhaps my fave bit was the way he stayed on his feet despite being fouled by Kolarov. The temptation to go down, get the free kick and slow the game probably didn't even enter his head. So refreshing to see a player fighting to stay on his feet rather than collapse in a heap (NB. Toure you fckin disgrace).
What a way to answer the critics on here. That should put a few posters back in their boxes for a while.

Did he give Hart the eyes? Because the way Hart goes down like Diouf will hit it across him suggest he does but I have no idea if it was that or just rank awful 'keeping. I only ask because if it's the former then it makes the goal even better!

I think he scuffed the shot which caught Hart out....it was still poor keeping though!

It's the only reason that makes sense as to why Hart did what he did. His weight is all shifted like he thinks Diouf is going to hit it across him, he realises too late and is stranded. Happy days!

He hit it hard and got it on target. I think Hart could have saved it but thought 'what a run, this guy deserves a goal'.
It appears we always need a scapegoat or two (believe it or not Ric was circa 2007).
This season we've got three early nominations. Wilson is the clear favourite with every and any goal conceded linked to him somehow. Diouf is next in line because he hasn't scored in every game. Bardsley is an outside bet only because he replaced last years scapegoat.

In situations like that, often the only way to score is through the keepers legs.
It makes the keeper look daft but when you're trying to be big and narrow an angle, that shot straight through your legs is almost impossible to save.
