I spotted a car, reg number WP 1, parked in Elburton Villa car park as I was walking the dog yesterday afternoon. Heard this morning he's getting a trial game as an over age player with the U12 side tomorrow morning. Mind you the wind is forecast for 10mph gusting 14mph tomorrow so that may not happen. Would that be Elburton Villa as in Elburton near Plymstock? I used to live about 300 yards away from their ground many moons ago when there was still a garden centre next door. Yep that's them mate. They play in the South West Penisular League, East Cornwall Premier League and Devon Junior and Minor Leagues. They have a good set up with U18, 16, 15, 14 & 12 levels as well as adult teams. The garden centre is gone and moved to Vinery Lane and taken over by Plants Galore. Loads of housing developments springing up around there now including the old council Tip at Chelson Meadow and a new town of Sherford which is supposed to start construction next April.........7500 new houses are planned for the town.

Yes, Sherford was under discussion when I left Plymouth about ten years ago. Progress, I suppose, and there is a need for new homes, but I felt that building Sherford was a step backwards as it would in effect link Plympton and Plymstock. Have they planned any upgrading of the roads to take the increased traffic? The problem is that there really are only two roads into central Plymouth from the East - the A38/Embankment Road and the A379 - and everything meets up at Cattedown roundabout.

Good luck to the lad. Can't blame him for the fact he never really had a chance to show what he can do.Can't blame him for the fact he's sat on the bench ever since he got to the Brit, and took his wages. Still happy to see him go, though. well said,we did use palacios[sparingly] last season and when called upon he did a pretty good job imo why so called fans have to stick the boot in on OUR players allways amazes me. they were even moaning about arnie until xmas fickle fuckers

SentinelPalacios? Villa? MH: I'm not aware of that interest. He had an opportunity to go to Qatar which would have been good for him but that fell through. We like him as a person and a player but sometimes it's right to move on. Interest from other Premier League clubs is not something I'm aware of.

Yes there has been improvement to the road system under the East End Traffic Improvement Scheme that took best part of two years to complete. Cattedown has been improved inbound to the city but outbound Exeter Street up to the roundabout is still a car park during rush hour. Commuting daily from Brixton to Eggbuckland is much quicker going up to Deep Lane at Plympton and zipping down the A38 rather than go through town. Well it was until a lane has been closed in both directions to facilitate the rebuilding of the Saltram Bridge over A38 (another victim of the famous concrete cancer that destroyed Charles Cross And Mayflower West Carparks in the city centre). Another 12 month project to test the nerves of commuters.

Catracho the Steering Wheel? I know these web translation filters can be random but I don't have a clue what that means. The word for 'midfielder' is the same as the word for 'steering wheel' in Spanish. I would be absolutely astounded if this happens. It would take Lambert's collection of has-been signings to a new low! so if it happens he'll be joining the "has been's" who've "has been" to the brit last week and won

The likes of Cole, Richardson and Senderos do have something of a "been there but not really done that" feel about them but they might turn out to be great signings. They certainly did the biz against us. You'll have to take my word for it on Palacios though - it really would be a new low!

I still think he'll come good. My thoughts entirely - given a decent chance and a fair wind Kitson, Tuncay and Palacios could all do very well this season.

I'm not saying that he would have made the grade, but we'll never know, will we? Do you think he had the chance? Care to illustrate why you think he did? I remember a certain player, John Mahoney, who was castigated and shot down before he had the chance to show what he had to offer. When Waddo gave him a run, he turned out one of the better wode midfield players we have had for a long time, and that includes today's selections.

With the exception of a handful of games he was a wheezing shadow of the player he used to be, didn't track runners, couldn't last 90 minutes and was generally miles off the pace. He did nothing at all to warrant a run in the side over the players we had, limited as they often were.
