Very true. I made a point of telling my staff in my working days that, even though I would not be checking up on their activities, EVERYTHING they did on an official computer or on an official mobile phone was visible to our IT staff who would no doubt bring it to management's attention if it was either illegal or broke commercial confidentiality clauses etc. It is a fact of life these days and anyone who doesn't "get it" needs to educate themselves ASAP. John, that's not quite true is it? When you were working mobile phones hadn't been invented Cheeky sod. Admittedly, Vodaphone was called Racal and O2 was still a twinkle in BT's eye and you ate apples, oranges and blackberries!

Everything involving that idiot Tan seems to go tits up. Better the day he fucks off back to Malaysia. is that really what you just said or have you simply just quoted one of Mackay's ridiculous, narrow minded and verging on racist texts? how is it Tan's fault that Moody and Mackay are racists, sexists and homophobes exactly? that simply has to be one of the most idiotic posts i've seen on here in a very, very long time! The texts are irrelevant to my post. That Tan employed them and then theyve somehow found their way into the press now is relevant.

Either Mackey wins a libel type case or he never gets a job in football again

Whilst I have been intrigued by what people believe the authorities can and can't do with company and personal mobiles my understanding is that in this cases its irrelevant because the texts all came to light when Cardiff's solicitors got a high court warrant to search I believe Moody's and Mackay's home and Moody's Crystal Palace Office. Also they gained permission to confiscate their mobile phone records the suspicion being that they had been profiting from over inflated transfer fees. Out of the 75,000 texts they examined the ones published are the more titivating ones. I would imagine that any suggesting criminal behavior if there are any will currently be being kept quiet.
Its a totally ridiculous accusation 2 football profesionals of this how were they going to get away with it by opening an offshore account in the name of a pet or something equally ridiculous . However its a good reminder to anyone planning any wrongdoing, paper and pencil are far better than the phone or the internet

Why has tan waited until now to say something? The wanker should be done for keeping quiet about it for so long and fucked off out of football or even better, made to buy wolves!

If TP quitting Palace was because of this Moody then that is a real shame for Palace's supporters, and the Club on a whole. TP could have done a great job there, but he would have no chance of getting signings with all this lot simmering. A potentially racist Sporting Director type rumours will do nothing to enhance incoming transfers.
What a frick up from Palace's POV.

I was thinking much the same. Could he have stooped to blackmail? Alternatively there may have been confidentiality agreements in place when both men were sacked from Cardiff. If so then they would possibly be able to sue him for breaching those agreements whether or not they are charged and found guilty of these latest allegations.

I wonder if the separate ruling on the leaking of the Cardiff team to Palace at the start of the week has anything to do with the timing. I heard so done say that it seems Tan is not best pleased that Palace haven't apologised so he's exacted retribution on them and Mackay. A double whammy!

I quite like VT.
M & M obviously crossed him and he's stitched them up like a kipper.
Why did he wait until now?
For maximum effect.
And boy has it worked - as said above, without winning a libel case against him or, dishing some equally tittilating dirt on him, they have got to be looking at jobs outside of footie.

His eyes are too close together.

I don't feel the need to add anything here about McKay and Moody - if they've sent these texts then I don't think you can say that they haven't got their just desserts for it, one has lost his job and the other has lost out on a job. I can't see either of them getting a job in football for a while. For me, that's no loss, as McKay seems like a complete tool in my limited experience of him and I know next to nothing about Moody.
Tan, however, seems to be getting away scot free, which I think is a shame. I don't doubt for a minute that the only reason that these texts got out is because Tan has a nasty, vindictive streak that makes Paul Scally seem like Alexander Jameson. He may have used them for blackmail, or he may have just decided that he wants to completely fuck over his two former employees for life. I would absolutely love it if the FA took this opportunity to place Cardiff under a transfer embargo and declare that Cardiff forfeit every game 3-0 until Tan, Tan's family and Tan's associate are completely removed from the football club.

They are searching his text messages and forwarding it to the FA.
So the obvious first point is that they stored his messages and the second being they have nothing to gain from this. Very strange.
Is this not a huge dump of spite and vengefulness from the owner?

They've absolutely no grounds for doing it, but it would be lovely.

10,000 txt messages searched & 70,000 documents looking for evidence.
3 txts found..gay snake..not many white faces..plus one anti-semitic.
They should bring the death penalty back for these appalling crimes.
Good to know some people have a sense of proportion and put their time to such good use.

In no way condoning it. One of the things that annoys me about these things is how people jump on the bandwagon, playing the holier than thou card, when in reality no one is whiter than white. You can't tell me that everyone coming out to condemn it, journalists and other people within football, have never said anything remotely racist or homophobic in their lifes? The difference is that M&M were caught red handed. Another modern aspect of the media that gets up my nose is that they try to tell us what we should be shocked and appalled by too.
Clearly Tan has timed this perfectly from his point of view, maximum effect and revenge if he feels theres something he wants to get back at them both for.

Not sure Danny Baker is particularly ITK - but it wouldn't be a massive shock if they were prepared to give TP exactly what he wanted now?
Danny Baker ?@prodnose
Palace fans. I am led to understand your new manager will be a case of 'meet the new boss, same as the old boss." That is all.

Tan didn't get to his fortune by accident, he knows how to play these games. I would say he has had team working on digging the dirt for month's biding their time to gain the maximum publicity. Why is this only now being released into the public domain. Imagine if all communications of Club management were put under this scrutiny, you would have a blood letting to rival the Saville enquiry.

Re: the Timing
It coud have been a lot worse and more spiteful
They could have released ths info 2 hours after Mackay was employed by Palace! That would have been interesting!
Would have been shortest management term in Premiership history.

No Tan got his fortune by getting the Malaysian national lottery agency which was privatised in 1985. No-one knows how much he paid for it or even if he paid anything but they do know he was very close to the politicians in power at the time. Now you can 2 and 2 together

They can say what they like to mates and at home, but work is different. It's not about being shocked, it's about being decent.

BUTif N'Zonzi asks for a transfer request because he doesn't believe promises given in his contract are being upheld (which he had every right to do) then it's "He's a mardy arsehole, fuck him off!" because obviously him doing that is far far worse than calling a fellow player a "Chink" or "a young homo" the completely obvious hypocrisy, double standards and refusal to look at those who are actually to blame is just embarrasing really....may as well just retitle the thread "Mackay/Moody investigated but that's boring so fuck that let's just slag off Vincent Tan instead"

The LMA have messed up as well. Fans are banned from grounds for persistent racist abuse but when managers do it, they claim it's just 'banter'.
