Two things of real note here; First casual use of communication products; be careful what you tweet, text, write on message boards. If a journalist took an interest in you, would you be happy to see stuff you've written plastered all over the Daily Mail. It's what's know up here as the Daily Record test. And remember, these journalist folks will trawl through thousands of messages to find a handful of "bad" messages. And it doesn't take much effort really - they'll just use a search engine of some sort with filters set to appropriate words to find stuff that suits their purposes in seconds. Second; agent payments. This looks like it could be a huge issue. By stopping payments to agents, Tan clearly believes there has been wrongdoing. Maybe even criminal. I mean, if I was owed monies that have been withheld I'm sure I'd take appropriate action to get them. Strange that that doesn't seem to have happened! The world of transfers, fees etc has long been a murky one. Maybe Tan is the man prepared to shine a light on it; good for him if he does. I can't see Tan being on some sort of crusade against agents and the dirty little world they inhabit although it is long overdue. No, this is revenge, pure and simple. Vinnie obviously said he keep his mouth shut if Mackay made that apology a few months ago, but then with Moody in the picture as well, it was too good a chance to pass up. Beautiful really.
It proves yet again that most footballers are unbelievably stupid. Who, in the public eye would text anything remotely abusive? You might as well wear it on a t-shirt.
Malky Mackay. An idiot and no real loss to the game.

What has it got to do with anyone what is said in private emails or texts? nothing at all till its made public

They were private texts which were found on Ian Moody's phone, which was seized when he was under investigation for transfer dealings whilst at Cardiff. They were sent privately and should of been kept private.
We live in an age where you're not allowed to say anything that goes against the PC view of the world, and people seem to get more offended by words than ever before. So precious.
I'm just glad I'm not a fairy headed lemon and actually possess a backbone myself because this kind of bollocks is getting ridiculous. I'm not condoning anything these guys have said to each other but, it was a private conversation and you're allowed to say whatever you like.
From what I understand as well, the FA can't even discipline them for it either. Vincent Tan has basically screwed them and their immediate career opportunities by bringing this information into the public domain, which sums that pathetic idiot up perfectly. Sour bastard.

Better the day he fucks off back to Malaysia. is that really what you just said or have you simply just quoted one of Mackay's ridiculous, narrow minded and verging on racist texts? how is it Tan's fault that Moody and Mackay are racists, sexists and homophobes exactly? that simply has to be one of the most idiotic posts i've seen on here in a very, very long time!

Although Tan appears to be a bit of a tool, MacKay and Moody appear to be much worse. There are going to be some red faced pundits out there eating humble pie.

Very true. I made a point of telling my staff in my working days that, even though I would not be checking up on their activities, EVERYTHING they did on an official computer or on an official mobile phone was visible to our IT staff who would no doubt bring it to management's attention if it was either illegal or broke commercial confidentiality clauses etc. It is a fact of life these days and anyone who doesn't "get it" needs to educate themselves ASAP.

TP fell out with Moody, not surprised Moody looks & is obviously a complete wanker.TP is best out of that shithole and he'll be back shortly managing another premiership club.I hope they go down it's the worst ground to get to and I hate the area. to be fair Tim Coe their chief scout also asked to leave BEFORE Pulis left because he wanted a more hands on job on a daily basis that apparently he hadn't been given under Pulis. i think Pulis fell out with a few people there by the looks of it Pulis actually falling out with people?? No way I won't believe it.

It IS a fact of life now but lets face it, a very 'orwellian' one. Pretty much everyone has the means not only to listen and record what you put out there, but also to broadcast it. The fact that our 'liberal' society now denies us freedom of thought and speech also adds to the mix. However the plain and simple fact is Malky Mackay is an idiot. No wonder his phone is now switched off!

So what if either one of their phones is not a company phone but their personal phone? As long as you're not connecting to your company network or using their wifi then you should be fine. The minute the company starts paying for your phone usage or data connectivity is the time you need to start being careful.

having what is said/texted etc. on company equipment (which THEY own for THEIR companies purposes) monitored isn't Orwellian at all in any way. doing so to privately owned laptops and mobiles may be but if the company owns them then they have every right to monitor what they're being used for, especially (as Stan rightly points out) when the texts relate to club business i.e. transfers, agents etc. trying to lump in the "Big brother" aspect just has no relevance here at all, neither does your idea of a liberal society denying us freedom of thought or speech...i agree with those points but they're nothing to do with what's happened to MacKay

So what if either one of their phones is not a company phone but their personal phone? Anyone (other than the Police or Security services who can only do it under certain conditions) interrogating a private phone would be breaking the law. But any company interrogating a phone it owned would not be breaking the law.
