Congratulations Ekker lad. Well deserved. Should have gone to Brazil.

After posting my comment about Pieters being so out of position it did occur to me that a well-drilled defence adjusts when one gets out of position and that Pieters may indeed have been doing the right thing and that the fault may have been elsewhere. That elsewhere being the interplay between Bardsley and Shawcross and them not shifting across the line.
I saw them gesture to each other part way through the second half in a way that suggested them not being fully sorted. I saw Bardsley kind of bowl his hand up the flank, as though meaning that he'd wanted the ball played in front of him. Didn't quite catch Shawcross's gesture.
They'll be well-drilled soon enough.

They'll be well-drilled soon enough. We could bring TP in to work on the defense

They'll be well-drilled soon enough. Watch the goal again. Bardsley and Shawcross did shuffle across. It was Wilson that was sleeping and didn't. Also witness a rather comical move from Whelan which I didn't actually see until yesterday. The goal was a comedy of errors which started with Pieters dart across the pitch, involved Whelan's bizarre anticipation of where the play might develop, 2 mistakes by Wilson, one of which was a Chamack'esque shithouse tackle and ended with Begovic who you would ordinarily expect to save that!
