Well done Erik - he must have been gutted not to be in the World Cup squad.

Amazing how the Dutch don't pick on reputation and it doesn't seem to do them any harm. Vlaar, Fer, Pieters, de Guizman, doesn't matter how fashionable the club is if they fit into the system and they're in form pick them.
Memo to Roy.......

well done Erik, hopefully get a start, Daley Blind is a very good LB though and will take some great performances to knock him out the first XI

I'm guessing they didn't see his performance on Saturday then! How stupid they will feel when they do, because we all know call ups are based on just one game, egg on their face time

Me, I'm always Mr Positive but I did notice Pieters backtracking from his advanced wing-back position on the left in a cross-field retreating diagonal that took him back through midfield and out to an exposed right back position? And then Villa scoring from just where he should have been, at the six yard line in his left back position.

I thought Whelan was supposed to be in midfield? So, are you saying he ran bizarrely to where he should be?

Yes but it was a strange run, considering he was running away from the villa striker about to score!!

Was he just suppose to leave the runner he was tracking mid way, and turn round and sprint to left back position there wasn't anybody in place where the runner was heading to was there, don't think he would have known Arnie hadnt filled in for him? Everybody would have given him stick if he did just run off, weren't we always coached to follow the runner when we were young?

The back line used in the WC performed admirably - vlaar, janmaat, de vrij, martins. One or two others. Can't see him replacing any if those

Wilson should have put a better attempt at a tackle in! See that sort of thing watching amateurs!
