Lost 1 game and panic has set in with some. Relax, there's another 37 to go. We'll be fine. Just stop expecting too much

Pride comes before a fall.
The summer was like one long game of Football Manager.
Now we've had our arses smacked hopefully we can knuckle down and earn the right to play the football we should be capable of. Tempo, pressing and pacy counter attacking rather than laboured, tippy tappy crab football.
Get in their faces and play with purpose. We have the players to do it.

I honestly believe that if we finish 12th or above with a decent cup run then we've had a good season. To expect higher than 9th is a big ask

Funnily enough Villa smashed Arsenal in the first game of last season. I wonder if the Arsenal fanzine boards went into meltdown?

Funnily enough Villa smashed Arsenal in the first game of last season. I wonder if the Arsenal fanzine boards went into meltdown? The whole stadium went into meltdown. I remember the rants on TV interviews with their fans. P.S. LP, how do you live up there? Just been there for a week and fuck me it's desolate

problem is with all the hype we just expected Stoke to turn up and we would of win the game.. its gonna be more difficult this season than last.. This, teams will come to the Brit well aware of our attacking players, they will set up not to lose & as we like to play counterattack we need to learn to press high now and win the ball in attack. I get the feeling we will be better away from home than at home for the first dozen home games until we suss this out

The Hughes approach is totally right. The players are good. Stop fucking capitulating and graft. It'll come good.

Or is that your point, I'm confused I suppose the point I was making (not very well, obviously) is that after that defeat to Villa, Arsenal went on a run which (until Ramsey's injury) might have taken them to the title and Villa went on a run which (were it not for the ineptitude of some other clubs) could have seen them relegated. The first day of the season is sometimes not a good indicator of how a club's season will turn out.

For the first time in years we might see our away form look better than our home form for a while until Hughes gets them to gel properly.

I live up here because I enjoy it up here. If I didn't enjoy it, I would not set foot in the place - and nor should you. Life is too short to be somewhere you don't enjoy.

This is the problem though. It takes time. Stoke fans haven't got time to give in the main. Remember Arnie last year?

I think the Oatcake has been pretty measured to be fair. It can get a lot more melted-down than this!

I would like us to try a 4 4 2 against Hull Bego Bards Ryan Huth Pieters Odem Nzonzi Sidwell Moses Bojan Diouf
Fully agree with other posters either Ireland or Bojan plays not both. We need to be able to tackle and hold the ball in midfield as well as move forward quickly in attack. Huth is more solid in defence than Wilson.
