That was two TP performances in a row. We were dire. No system to pace nothing. I would drop nzonzi for Adam now and give him a kick up the jaxsey.

2 things scream out. We have nothing like the quality we imagine we have (if you cant shine when you have as much time on the ball as they did today when can you??) and there must be consequences, players need to be dropped.

Is anyone going to finally believe me now that we need a quality centre midfielder?
Whelan does what he does nzonzi im still waiting for someone to tell me what he does adam, impact but not enough ireland I like but we need more.
our game needs a midfield to dictate play. We just stroll round.

Poor all round today but my biggest concern is Diouf - with his back to goal against a deep-lying defence he offers nothing. We need another option up front before deadline... Diouf was asking for quality balls in the channels all game and all he got was tippy tappy crap behind him. Charlie Adam should be in the side somewhere away from home because he can hit the areas Diouf needs.

Everyone needs 3 touches it seems. Need to get back to playing with pace. A point is a start but so far off where we were at the end of last season is frightening

I have gone from expecting top ten before the season, to being happy with a point, in the space of 1 match. Generally an optimist, but will be happy with Stoke survival this season, after just 2 games.
However, an away point is always decent, and writing us off after 2 games (especially given the traditional Hughes slow-start-to-the-season) is harsh.
I can't help but feel that soon, the forwards will start to click, and we will do well.
Remember guys, 2 games isn't much in terms of a whole season. Given the quality we do undoubtedly have, anyone writing us off already (which I have seen) is being premature.

Just walking away from the ground shell shocked.
If that is the best we can muster we will struggle this year.
Shambles from back to front.

If I am honest. Only Crouch and Adam came out of that with any credit..perhaps with an honourable mention to Shawcross. The irony being that they were the two that many were touting around to be sacrificed to make way for the new comers. Maybe that's what playing for your place does. Diouf's touch seems ...well Mama-esque but I felt that if they hadn't lost the man early on they would have pushed up more and he'd have caught them out with his pace. As the match went on he looked less and less likely to get on the end of anything. Bojan is lightweight. So lightweight. Muscled off everything and it's clearly going to take him a while to adapt to the Premier league. Odemwingie is still in Brazil. Nzonzi (who I thought did well against Villa) was invisible today. Arnautovic also seems off the pace and not gelling with his team mates - this is how he started last year but it's disappointing to see him back there again. Glen is just Glen. Less solid today and a few misplaced passes. I didn't see much from Sidwell to excite me yet. The lads at the back look like they've only just met. I fear they may embarrass themselves against Citeh.

Only 2nd game of season but that performance was absolutely shocking, not one of those players came out of that with any credit whatsoever, shambolic passing throughout, no urgency, too pedestrian, playing at walking pace, taken us 141 minutes of "football" to make opposite keeper make a decent save over the two games!

We seem to be missing a bit of fire in the belly...
At least we came away from Hull with something. Still very early days to be writing the team off. Obvious issues to sort out but hopefully Hughes will get there.

I was forecasting top six. Make that bottom six. We are playing garbage and our new striker? Cows arses and banjos spring to mind!If we aren't beating a ten man Hull we have no chance.

The most worrying thing for me is our unwillingness to take a fucking shot, there was a number of chances to get a decent shot off and instead it was passed into a crowded 18 yard box, needs sorting asap.

Having just seen the MOTD2 report of our game I was surprised at all the venom on this board when - on the evidence presented which was much of Stoke moving forward - we had way more attempts on goal than the home team. I think the BBC said 17/18/19 shots for Stoke against 5 for Hull which makes me think that what is wrong at Stoke at the moment is the team are not practising shots at goal enough!! I believe that the next time Arnie has to turn defensive and instead stands there bemoaning his/the team's perceived ill-luck, he should be dropped and Muniesa brought in on the left of midfield for he can pass a ball and defend very well to. Also Bojan and Muniesa jelled together very well in pre-season so I believe he should be given a chance. Buck up Arnie, at Stoke we like our footballers to give 100%+ effort all the time, not only when fate goes against us.
