I've got to go and see a client who owes my firm some money tomorrow, I wonder if he and Huth would like a day out ?

I was working over in Italy a couple of weeks ago, one of the groups was a Slovak (who looked a bit like Muniesa) I asked him about Tex and he didn't know about him, when he googled him and saw who he played for in his country, he was mystified as to him joining a high profile team like Stoke, saying a couple of the teams he had played for on the list were amateur teams; It certainly seems a strange signing from his previous footballing progress, but hopefully one of those gem of a finds that will pay off for us.

Good read, Rob.
He's got to be a loan candidate, surely?
But it's hard to work out what kind of team would take a punt on him?

Do Crewe have a vacancy for a centre back? You'd think that'd be ideal for 6 months. Not having to move house would be a bonus for someone like him too after a big life change If we could get some relationship going like that, it could suit both teams.

I guess the problem is that none of us on here know what his level really is. He could be far too good for League 1 and be worth a place in our squad for all we know. Presumably Hughes has a better idea. A 6 month loan to somewhere to see how he acclimatises wouldn't hurt, I suppose.

I've just read all the new boys pieces and the season review. All good. As usual distracted from working.
Walsall would be a good move for Jonny Tex too - close by, plenty of football without the relegation struggle?

Maybe it's just me but I got the impression we'll be using some in our games and cup games here and there - the talk of the Muniesa project, him getting plenty of minutes in pre-season, it all made me wonder if we'll be seeing rather more of him than expected. Was weird to see him come on at left back against Betis.

Surely there's no place for him on the bench though?
XI: Bego, Bardsley, Shawcross, Wilson, Pieters, Whelan, NZonzi, Ireland, Arnautovic, Diouf, Bojan Subs: Butland, Huth, Muniesa, Sidwell, Adam, Crouch, Odemwinge. That leaves Walters and Cameron not even in the squad - then we're also after another wide player. Even if we sell three players we're still at capacity and need a long term injury for Tex to make the bench, plus you have to think Huth at least is ahead of him in the pecking order for CB. We've also got Wilko, Shotton and Jerome kicking about.
A loan with the option of a recall seems to be the way to go.
