8 of us on the early flight from Gatwick fri morning. Had some amazing times following stoke all across Europe on pre seasons and im looking forward to this one just as much. Looks a nice little city. I take it that we will be basing ourselves in the big Irish bar (O'kellys) in true British tourist tradition!! Just seen the weather and id say its mixed to say the least. Bright sunshine, heavy rain and thunderstorms this weekend!!!

Strange that we have just come back from Germany and we are returning for a one off game.
Does anyone know if there is a particular reason we are playing this game?

Wish I was, Mrs gave it the OK for us and I had looked at flights and hotels, but the lad got a summer job and is working, and when I come back off summer hols mid July, my opposite number has booked this Friday - Monday off, despite being off last week in Cornwall and finishing next Thursday for 10 days to go on a cruise. On the plus front, he's camping this weekend and it looks like it's a washout, serves the bin dipper right

Gonna need a holiday to get over this bugger. I used to live in Basel, Paddy's (in heuwaage) on a friday night always a good laugh, there used to be (I moved away about 7 years ago) a bar called Excalibur near to barfusserplatz which opened till dawn - one of those you remember going in and not leaving. Also prepare to get royally f*&ked on beer/food/pretty much everything apart from a daily tram pass prices Enjoy!

Going from stanstead Friday morning until Sunday. Can't wait. Anybody have any recommendations for places to visit. Bars restaurants nightlife etc. I'm not going, unfortunately (bit of a trek from Canada) but I do have a friend who lives near Freiburg so I asked her where was good: Innis Free is an Irish pub and sports bar, Cheers is also a sports bar, both are likely to be very busy though. If you're after something more traditionally German try Martin's Bräu or Mehlwaage. All the places do food, but she says the best place to eat is Brennessel as they do a great Spag Bol, which is on happy hour 6PM - 7:30PM and 11PM - 0:30AM for 1.80€ They also do other food too and it's cheap. Hope this helps, let me know if you need any more info.

A quick heads up for anyone thats driving to the game..... Just called the stadium to ask if there are parking places. The answer was no as they have very few and they have already been reserved. HOWEVER, the university close to the ground DOES have tons of parking and is EUR1 a day for the whole day. Here is the link below to the university www.ph-freiburg.de/Its a simple 15 minute walk from the uni to the stadium The number 1 tram goes to LASSBERGSTRASSE - thats the nearest tram stop apparently
