Thank the lord there are decent footballers about.
It doesn't cost them much compared to their salary and they don't have to do it but what a lift it will give someone.

There's plenty out there mate....many fans just don't want to see it as the negatives sell the papers from which they base their views

And yet will this get 1/10th of the publicity that say Jack Wilshire and his ciggies got? Nah - its a sad old world we've created.

Top man, though it will be difficult to distinguish between the two on Miseryside, I fear a public enquiry lasting a quarter of a century to differentiate who is actually unfortunate or bone fuckin idle.

Thank the lord there are decent footballers about. It doesn't cost them much compared to their salary and they don't have to do it but what a lift it will give someone. Theres actually a huge amount of decent footballers who do a great deal for charity that we dont hear about. Mainly because the media far prefer to report when on the odd occasion a player steps out of line rather than someone doing something good, and also for the celebrity culture that makes people want to read about the former. The amount of attention Giggs got for his indiscretion for example was massively disproportionate to what,if any,it actually warranted. Not all footballers are cunts,in fact,i dares say that there's an equal proportion of the utter bell ends in football as most cross sections of society. But,no,that doesnt sell papers or feed the publics thirst with the need to bring a whole profession down based on a small number of arseholes

One of the supposed arseholes of football, Craig Bellamy, has his own personally funded Academy in Africa for example.

And yet will this get 1/10th of the publicity that say Jack Wilshire and his ciggies got? Nah - its a sad old world we've created. Guess we could test that out on this message board. Compare the length of this thread with the latest Wilshire smoking one. I've got a suspicion about which will come out on top!

Lovely gesture, although this quote
'I thought this might be a small gesture to help those in that situation to enjoy a day out at one of our league matches. Hopefully it can bring some joy to many people.'
Made me think Tranmere will be doubling their attendance this season
