Was Mark Hughes at the match? He was Paul but hardly moved out of his seat in the dugout

Out of curiosity did anyone stand out today? Does teixera look a potential first teamer? Tex looked ok at best mate,Alabi looked like we needed to open the gates on some of his runs but the young lad Shenton impressed when he came on for me.Sidwell looked off the pace and Odenwingie but i suppose its only a friendly.Shea and Ness might as well have stood with me in the away end.

Dont get me wrong, it started funny. Then a line was crossed. Thankfully Jack didnt turn around and tell us all to go fuck ourselves.
Anyway the game, thought the young LB did ok.
Tex looked great, reminded me of a slightly more agile huthy. Both in a tackle and on the ball. No nonesense, seemed to make a few odd decisions but comfortable on the ball and can become a great player. Still dont believe hes only 21?!
Shea looked as headless chicken as his hair, but it was great to see him making an effort and putting a shift in. But never going to be good enough.
Aside from a few decent crosses shotton was poor.
Sidwell seemed to struggle from a case of the Charlie Adams, first touch was a bit off at times but once it was under control seemed pretty good.
Palacios, well it wasnt windy...Still seemed a bit unfit, and again first touch left a lot to be desired.
Odemwingie was quiet, but did ok.
Jerome still caused problems with his pace, did ok though.
Cameron was ok, not enough talking for me and seemed out of position a few times. I like a few others wouldnt mind too much if he left
Ness I thought had a good game, great delivery on corners and free kicks. Made some good crosses and moved the ball well. Still a bit of hope for him as a squad player.
Alabi did well when he come on, still a bit raw but as others have said hes a tank. Get a bit more culture, pace and experience in those feet and he can bully most defenders.
Ollie Shenton, for a 16 year old he was hungry, wanted the ball and was very comfortable using it. His shot was incredible for a volley and would of been a wonder start to his stoke career. I can see him featuring for the first team in a couple of years I was really impressed.
Butland, did well considering he seemed a bit flapped from the fans. For the most part did well, still not the finished article but he will get there im sure. Just hope hes still here then.
Charlie Ward and the other academy player did ok but nothing of note.

Cheers bud. The disappointing thing for me there would be players like ness who really has it all to prove especially with the injuries and us bringing players in. That's his stage today to show Hughes he's still here really regardless of it being a friendly. Roll on the 16th and watch us go ;-)

Can someone tell me the importance of this game.? I can see nothing more than a fitness exercise and giving fringe players a good run out. Some seem to think my view on that is irrelevant on twitter because I did not attend the match. Am I missing something were points at stake today and we dropped two valuable ones, are we know relegation material because we have played 4 and not won yet,

The two are not mutually exclusive. Many of us hoped that the club had moved on to the point where any team we selected from the squad would have a bit too much for a Division 2 side but on this evidence that isn't the case.

I suppose it's an opportunity for the younger ones to show us what they can do but it's pretty obvious in most cases they are far off breaking into the first team . Never the less there are signs perhaps that Hughesy is looking at one or two of our younger players to perhaps play in the early rounds of the cup competitions.

Wonder if the same that think a friendly matters are the same ones that think abusing their own players is banter
