Just back from the game. Oh dear that was poor and tbh we should have been beaten.Their 2 1st half chances should have gone in and we created absolutely nothing apart from the young lad Ollie Shenton having his goalbound volley headed off the line and a header onto the bar in the 2nd half. The likes of Shea and Ness did absolutely NOTHING to enhance their chances of 1st team football either. Finally to the UTTER MORONS who found it funny to abuse their own players ie Butland and Shotton you really do beggar belief.Butland actually put his hand up to start with to the fans but the these morons actually carried it on and on until in the end the abuse started "We all hate Leeds scum" and "Ryan Shotton you're a wanker" Then at the end of the game he was"England's number 1 again. We really did have some utter cnutrags their today and its very sad to say so. Kids surely? Couldnt agree more mate, some of the pricks were shouting fat wanker to butland because he wouldnt wave at the poor things, what a bunch of absolute dicks and no they werent kids.

Amazing what half a shandy can do! Maybe they were affected by the wafting aroma of beer?

I don't know about the Butland thing and I wasn't at the game today. However the close range Shotton abuse I have seen before and posted about on this message board in the past. It reached something of a crescendo at the Crawley Town away game in the FA Cup where our fans were on a small covered terrace no more than 2 or 3 yards from pitch side. The vitriolic, spitting hatred visited in the direction of Ryan Shotton from a group of "fans" who I would say were in the 18 to 25 age group and would have been clearly audible on the pitch was just one of the saddest and ugliest things I have seen at a Stoke City game. I have read on here that Shotton has made enemies 'up Hanley' either through his actions or those of his mates I don't know which but someone needs to get a grip of this situation because it is truly horrible to see

Butland's just deleted his tweet, but he told a fan who asked "where was our wave" on twitter that he did wave during half time and before the game, but had a game to concentrate on.
Some fans clearly forgot he had a match to play.

Got him on twitter now as well.
Tyrone Sidley ?@stokemadsidders 13m
@jackbutland_One why didn't you wave back, haha
Butland replied saying he did wave once then concentrated on the game, but seems to have deleted it now. To which he replied:
fair play to that but the fans are a important part of the game aswell haha.
Which justifies the behaviour. Twat.

Grown men asking another grown man where their wave was. Jesus wept, there is a generation of folk turning in their grave at comments like that.

Sky sports apparently said: "Stoke were supposed to be bringing a weakened side to Burton today but it is actually very strong side, including the likes of Shotton, Palacios and Butland."

That was the irony mate because he was England's Number 1 at the start of the chanting, then he went Stoke's number 4,then because he didn't wave "we all hate Leeds scum"They also gave him a chant of one Daniel Bachmann as well when he wouldn't wave AGAIN.Pathetic is the word that sums these MORONS up.

Totally agree mate It looked like alot of them had been let out for the day It started off mildly amusing as did the pisstake of Harry Potter the steward. But as usual some pissed up boneheads in our midst simply took it too far. In the end it was a complete embarrassment. There were grown up men trading insults, and nearly blows, over whether a 21 year old lad waved or not. Fuck me how sad is that?

Agree mate and that female steward as well got abit of stick which she took well Harry Potter just ignored it all though. Very very sad mate and i have to say it was just the same at Cardiff as well over Easter when most we're in no fit state to stand up never mind watch the game. Some of the younger generation of stokies really are going to drag this club through the gutter if it carries on.

Yes she did mate. We can have some of the funniest spontaneous chants and some of the most cringeworthy moronic ones. I suppose we're no different than most clubs in that respect. Still didn't make this afternoon any less uncomfortable at times. You weren't the big bloke in the glassess giving the nobbers some right abuse were you Mutters?

Some total dickheads out in force today abusing their own players because they didn't wave back!
These clowns couldn't even see that the players were trying to concentrate on their game even if it was only a friendly.
I can imagine what the manager would have said to the players if they'd have got caught out whilst "waving'" to the crowd.
I do wonder about some of our supporters, I'm surprised they could even find their own way down the A50.
Got well beyond a joke towards the end of the first half.
Sometimes best to keep your gob shut and let everyone think you are a fool than open it and just confirm you are one!

There are so many Stoke fans who are an embarrassment to the Club - and they think they are so clever, it's only their small group - who find their antics funny!! I observed in Germany 3 fat F...krs chanting to 2 genuine supporters obsenities - they think they are so clever because these 2 people don't react to their chants - these are fellow supporters you w..kers!!! I saw 1 of them in USA when he was with his wife/partner - he was soooooooo nice! You know who/what you are !!!!
