Funny how there was a post earlier where someone was saying Shotton won't get a chance at right back because he's fifth in line. But the four ahead of him are now unavailable. Bardsley not fit, Cameron on rest and Wilson on a knock... Shotton and Wilko possibly in right? no BOOM Muni.

I thought he was the obvious bloke to come on when Wilson went off? Mind you, if Diouf gets any deeper, he'll be playing there

I like the way Bojan is playing almost like a false number 9 at times - he's dropping very deep and exploiting space between the lines but his pace is a major worry to the centre backs, which means if Diouf can get in behind the back of them, it could end up being pandemonium.
It's a very continental way of setting up from Hughes but if he can get it to work in the Prem - then it could be genius!

Right i'm going to say it and await a few dislikes. I predict 3 goals for Diouf in the up and coming campaign. 1 against Macclesfield in the cup, 1 against Swansea and the final an own goal from a corner. What...!!!!!

Max meyer and Sydney Sam are quite good. Choupo-Moting (sp?) is a big unit, too - could be very good in a year or two...

Arnie couldn't finish a chip supper. If he could he would never have been near the Brit. Bang on. Well he can't have everything just let him let shit for the others

They have had at least 4 they should have scored from, two good saves from bego and two skewed wide. Long range efforts, not clear chances.

Who the fuck is Syndney Sam??? beauty of having a mac that auto corrects, Sorry I apologise It should of been sidney with a i not a y. Saying that, its one of the better spellings of a word on this forum! Ive seen some corkers on here. I wasn't referring to the spelling mate, more enquiring who he is. I'm reading in Spain whilst sat with my feet dangling in the pool and wondered who the hell he was. First half sounds promising given this is Champions League opposition a week away from the opening league fixture of the season.

Some nice passing and quick counter attacking. Ireland links up play well, Bojan and Diouf always looking to get in or run in behind. Arnie moving across the forward line well.
No bugger will ever convince me that we'd be so much better with an Whelan upgrade. Did anyone else see that un-opposed 10 yard attempted pass from Whelan on 38 minutes? It must have gone across the pitch, fine, but about 15 yards away from the intended target.
Everyone else looks comfortable on the ball in the midfield and up front bar Glenn, who at times and just sit watching with my fingers cross that he keeps possession.

So 3rd in the Bundesliga is equivalent to what in the Premiership? I'd say we've done pretty well. Equivalent to...3rd?

Bojan is coming good. Very neat and accurate passing so far, and N'Zonzi doing well too.

To be fair I'm just impressed we're not getting battered by a CL side who season starts in a few days

It's early in the season, as long as he just resets play and is a body behind bojan and nzonzi im happy until we get a better player in. Glenn just needs to move with it at his feet a bit more and ease in.
