Reading today's Patrick Coliins column in the Mail on Sunday (don't worry I didn't pay for it) was all too predictable.
The piece is called 'Best League in the World ? Dont believe the Hype' it is principally about how (in his opinion) the top players in the world are happy to leave the Premier League and join Barcelona, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich as 'the pursuit of excellence' means they must leave English clubs to play in Europe where they will truly for fill their potential (bollocks of course as we are talking about 3 clubs not the league structure and makeup in which they operate)
Before I had even started reading it I just knew there had to be a derogatory Stoke reference in it and low and behold there is a paragraph which states -
'Irksome irrelevances like Test Cricket and international track and field will be brusquely cast aside while the delights of Stoke and Crystal Palace will be ardently embraced'
Well I'm sorry mr fancy Dan cricket loving toff but even the likes of Stoke and Crystal Palace court more interest than those minority sports that frankly get more than enough coverage on TV given their interest base (I'm always shouting my mrs to come down and watch and exciting afternoon of track and field - doesnt it just grab you as a spectator sport ?)
Anyway Paddy you can just fuck off with your pompous attitude and go and watch cricket / European football, and leave the rest of us to enjoy seeing the second oldest team in world to enjoy pissing on your chips as we beat Arsenal, Manure, Chelsea and Liverpool all over again. It's not a private party and it certainly isn't being held by you - if it was then I for one certainly wouldn't want to attend you boring old fart !

Ah Patrick, continue writing your misinformed, pointless tirades of complete dogshit, they brighten up my day, knowing that you sat in an office, hunched over your desk like some kind of morally bankrupt Mr Burns, plotting on how you could garner a reaction from people who live in a City you probably haven't been within 150 miles of, because your cuntish personality won't let you leave the warm, comfy bosom of London, whilst everyone else is outside, enjoying the sun, and your wife is at home, getting her dirt track broken in by the local window cleaner.
If you're that wank at constructing a story that you need to include digs at people or places just to garner a reaction, rather than provoking a debate with intelligent, researched remarks, then perhaps you ought to consider a career away from column writing? I hear McDonalds are recruiting.
I'll take a Big Mac, minus the pickle, you cocksmoking tosser Collins.

He's quite clearly got a massive issue with Tone and since we were the vehicle to have a pop at him in the past, he probably hates Stoke as well after so many of our number will have rightly called him a sanctimonious prick via comments pages.

His headline is correct. The league is not the best in the world. Sadly his sarcastic ire is being expelled in the wrong direction. Not for the first time.
Try the top 4 Patrick. They are the most culpable in all of this. They don't develop or embrace young English talent in the main. They lazily reach for the cheque book to splash on the latest name from Europe. They push wages up through the roof. They spectacularly fail in European competitions despite having money and facilities way, way in advance of other European countries. They ignore young british coaches. They devalue domestic cup competitions with reserve sides.
Need I go on?

Stoke will continually be mentioned in a derogatory sense cos it's easy to do rather than acknowledge that we have stayed in the premiership as long as we have and rarely have we been close to relegation fodder. Even if we had won the FA cup it wouldn't make any difference. It was the same for Wimbledon it didn't matter what they did or how they did winning the FA cup, their style of football has always counted against them. And regardless of the Pulis haters here Palace stayed up and played differently and better than anyone thought they would. But then we had the likes of the fantastic styles of Cardiff Norwich and Fulham Sunderland Villa, WBA and not forgetting Man U last year, all world class sides playing world class football. But Stoke and Palace are easier targets.

Dear Paddy
After another piece of piss poor journalism, I, my fellow Stokies and any other fans that love football in all its forms that don't meet your guidelines for poncy football, would be most grateful if you take your sorry self, piers 'self important' morgan, Alan 'total cunt of a human' Davies and any other fucktard gooner fans, and jump off the nearest cliff. Once you have done this I will then look over the edge and take a long satisfying piss over your sorry excuse of an existence.
Yours in stoke
Mr M.I.A. Suitcase.
Rant over

Well done fella - make sure its analytical rather than emotional and insulting that cuts the bastards much deeper well done ! I just get sick of reading the same shit mate. I love football in all its forms. although I have to say tika taka is dull as fuck, but it's football and i love it. People like paddy fuckwit think they are holier than though by preaching football can only be classed in its purist form if it's the arsenal way. It's bollocks. If that's the case what the fuck have they won before the fa cup last season in the last 9 years. Fuck all that's what. United, citeh and Chelski mixed it up. They adapted to the opposition and won a raft of silverware. The arsenal way repulses me. Arsenal repulse me celebrity arsenal fans repulse me. 40 years on, and nothing has changed my view that shit club.

I enjoy reading his articles, and I enjoy listening to him on the radio, because it just proves that you can be as mad as a box of frogs, and still hold down a full time job. Don't feel the need to add to the insults of fellow OP's, suffice to say they echo my own thoughts. However, the guy is so close to the edge, we should all enjoy his rants whilst we can, the straitjacket is not far away.

I once emailed to ask him what the point of him and his job actually is. He didn't reply.
He's the very epitome of the sports writer, the sort of clown who hates football but loves saying he dines in the same restaurants as Arsenal players in London.

You should have sent a similar one to Roy Hodgson asking why we are paying him £ 3.5 million to rubber stamp team selections made by the broadsheet Sports writers...
Football is cash cow with no conscience.
