I wonder if Jimmy Greenhoff's autograph was at the front of Neil's bible along with the bishops and archbishops given his God like status amongst Stokies. You could ask the man himself if he holds court outside the club shop before tonight's game. Or, you could ask Malcolm Clarke - he'll know as I'm sure he's seen Neil's bible plenty of times.

Read virtually every one of those forums. What a bunch of sad, bitter twats west brom are. Can't really see a problem with it. 100% of people commenting on the film itself on that thread are completely positive. Yes it goes off on a tangent with a debate about the relative merits of WBA and Stoke City as football teams and the areas in which they reside but I can imagine if this were an equivalent film with WBA at it's heart then exactly the same thing would happen on this message board. You know it would! I disagree, there are about 5 posts about the actual program followed by comments like 'they bully us', 'Sjoke can fuck off back to League 1 where historically they belong. #neverwonfuckall', 'stoke is a dump'. Also was the main theme actually about stoke city? No. So If it was about any other team it doesn't take away from it being a fantastic piece of television. Have any of the other forums resorted to insults about stoke city? No.

You are always going to get the sad thick nobs who turn a thread into a moronic slagging off our team, and I bet that if this had been the same story and Neil would have been associated with Man U or Chelsea, there would have been some on this board who would have succumbed to the same abuse. I have read nearly every review available since it was on last Thursday, and I am heartened by the amount of positive reactions there have been to it. I am unashamed to admit that the film had me in tears, both sad and happy, and even reading the comments from other footy sites I have been watering up again. 99% of the comments on other boards have been so positive, and I think this has done more for not just our team but for football in general, it has been thought provoking as well. How many of us who didn't know Neil would have given a lift to a guy in a clowns costume. Often we are too quick to judge, and it is easy to be cynical in a cynical world. This has resonated with so many people, I just hope that this film will make people think about their own frailties, and an important life lesson will be learned. Theres only one Neil Baldwin.

Fair enough, but they are the only ones to have taken it off topic and used it to have a dig at us.

"Marvellous" was indeed exactly that, a truly wonderful programme
Apols if already asked / answered ( I haven't had much chance to read all through the threads in last few days ) but are we now "officially" expecting the 3 of them on the pitch tonight ?
And...and apols again if already asked / answered,...... but in the "testimonial" game scene wasn't the crest on the Stoke flag hanging over the wall incorrect ? i.e. from memory I'm sure we didn't get that crest until about year 2000 ??
Or does time just pass even more quickly than you think ?!

I hope they get on as well but I suspect my hopes will be dashed. Yes, there were a few instances of incorrect flags and scarves in the film.

In hindsight, I don't really have a problem with the flag in the testimonial scene. Our current badge is what everyone outside our club will associate with SCFC and it reinforced that Nello was indeed warming up to come on for Stoke City!
Those involved did a great job with the strip of the time so I think we can forgive them for one lapse anyway.

Does he still knock about the Club shop before games?? He can usually be found by the wall opposite the shop entrance. There may be a camera crew on him tonight as he is being filmed and followed for BBC's "Inside Out" program

Pretty well everyone who watched has been very positive about Nello,Lou and Stoke City and lets hope it gets the awards it surely deserves.

Before every Stoke match six or seven of us always have a meal at Harvesters and last night we had the legend himself joined us (as Malcolm is always one of our 6or7!) so I've got the answers to all the questions I've seen asked on here!
The Fulham game NOT Spurs game was the 'one Neil Baldwin' chanting. Jimmy Greenhoff only made it in the back of the bible not the front! And the Swansea game will be a dedicated 'Marvellous' day with clown face painting and possibly a big array of stars from the film.

I'm not sure - probably week's "inside out"? You could try sending a pm to Malcolm Clarke - he may know the transmission date.
