Brilliant brilliant brilliant. That sure is why we watch football, Paul. Sadly I too am more upset about USA's departure than that of England. The difference is all about attitude and money and ours stinks.
I've watched every minute(live) of all 54 games and this one was one of the best. So proud to have had one of our lads taking part and doing so well. Don't let Geoff go, Mark. Attitude, versatility and stamina count for a lot and though I wasn't too happy with some of his RB performances, though admired his willingness to soldier on (and likewise tonight at CM) I am now 100% behind him.
Well done Geoff. A terrific welcome awaits you - and Asmir and Peter - at your first game back at the Brit. And won't that alone be worth a SC? (season card)
Anyone else as exhausted as me? But cannot imagine life without this fantastic game. Pheeeeeeeeew!
If only we could get FIFA to eliminate Argentine and replace with the USA! And eliminate the likes of Suarez.

A superb game of football, no mind numbing periods of pointless, chanceless, 'possession for possessions sake', dogshit.
Powerful, last man standing, punch drunk swinging at each other.
End to end.
Relentless.
Life affirming, exhilarating.
Football as it should be.

I think passion is sometimes used as a substitute term for massive levels of fitness. They were awesome in that regard and good technically too. On the up And one of the few times I've seen America attack a country with no oil )

Nice game by GCam but I thought he had a lot of blame for Belgium's second.

Clap, Clap, Clap.
Great game played with passion and pride. This was one of the best games of football i have seen for a while. what a relief it was too to see no cheating and play acting, just 2 teams going toe to toe with each other till the end. Like footballs version of rocky.

Fantastic game of football. Belgian team packed with star players, USA well...., just look what teamwork, passion, fitness and a willingness never to give up can get you. Yes they lost, but not by much. Bradley was still covering the whole of the pitch right up to the last minute, and Tim Howard in goal was superb. They are the team I am most disappointed see leave the competition. This is how the likes of Stoke can compete against the big boys in the EPL

Proud of my team today. Proud of Cameron. Will be gutted for four years that Wondo missed the chance at the end of regular time. Losing Altidore all tournament and Johnson today, really impressed by the commitment everyone showed. Go USA.

It was onside however and the linesman is probably pretty happy he missed! Immensely proud to be American right now, can't think of a better way to go out! Heads held high after giving 100% in every game in the tournament, truly brilliant.

GCam or Fellaini in midfield, I know who I'd take every time, I thought Fellaini contributed very little other than give away fouls
I stood up all the way through extra time, just superb stuff. That free kick routine right at the end was a joy, just thought they were going to blast it.

I thought Cameron played really well tonight. Perhaps that rest did him some good. He was measured on the ball, carried it comfortably and aside from a few misplaced passes, looked well within the game.
A contender for our central midfield?

Cameron did well, plus the fact that he is a stoke player representing stoke city at the world cup.

So proud. Individually we are pretty weak but as a team we got 100% out of that lot. What the hell for into some of them? They actually believed they could win this thing. All hail Klinsmann he was magnificent, his substitutions were brilliant and his tactics were spot on. Tim Howard had the GK performance of his dreams!

The linesman had his flag out for goal kick. I saw a replay that showed this too but I can't find it now.

Absolutely gutted. Geoff had a cracking game, it would be very short sighted to get rid of him. Hopefully he'll have a few weeks to clear his head ready to start back pre season. Unfortunatly one or two players didn't turn up for the US and it cost them, cough Bradley Zusi cough. The US look a better team unit than England and i'd have to say if we played each other the US would wipe the floor with us

"So angered was the Wall Street Journal by the diving taking place in this World Cup, they undertook a study to find out which team play-act the most. The newspaper calculated that during the first 32 games of the tournament, 302 players went to ground, apparently in pain.
These theatrics took up a total of 132 minutes of "writhing time". According to the report, there were nine genuine injuries in a total of 302, leaving 293 cases of "simulation".
The study showed one thing emphatically: the more you win, the more you flop. Teams who were winning were more than twice as likely to fake injury to waste time.
Brazil had most flops; Bosnia the least. Matthew Palmieri, another US fan in Brazil, said he felt the American team would be less likely to indulge in the dark arts because of the reaction Stateside."

He made some great passes down the wing to Yedlin all game and was winning a ton of balls in the midfield. USA didn't win possession this game by luck. Plus the nice assist to Green.

Well if the millions of yanks watching this don't get it, then they never will. Football just reaches the parts other sports simply cannot... I'm not sure. I don't mean this in a bad way but Yanks don't seem too fussed with the old plucky loser routine like us. They like winners. Which is probably why they excel in so many sports to be fair.

He was shit but I thought Bradley was excellent. Geoff was Geoff. Did some really good things and did others that had me wondering if he'd ever played the game. His tackling, if you can call it that, is woeful and very weak as evidenced by Belgiums second goal. Overall though Cameron had a good game and USA were excellent. Had they been able to bring on Altidore for extra time, I reckon they would have won.

Geoff attempted 81 passes with a completion rate of 81% only bettered by Bradley of USA. Geoff recovered possession 8 times, blocked 4 shots made 6 tackles, took on an opponent 4 times completing it on all occasions. Of his 81 passes, 27 were passes in the attacking 1/3rd only bettered by 4 players on the pitch. Geoff showed his athleticism was a big advantage, getting from box to box with ease. Hughes should give him the chance to compete with Nzonzi for his position, as last nights display shows he ain't half bad at it
