We're forever told that the Premiership is the best league in the world, but after witnessing the farcical that was England during the world cup....if we took all the foreign players out of the Prem.......it'd be shit!!!!

thing is we have allowed the premier league to run loose, it is a brand now and it isnt the football thats important let alone the England team, its about the money and the stronger the brand the better the payout, the premier league is a global product and now relies on the best players from around the world and until the FA takes back some of the control then the England football team is set to fail over and over again, but i doubt the FA will ever be able to reign the prem in

The only category that the Premier League fits the 'best in the world' category is for it's marketing. Thats why everyone talks about it being the best in the world and a lot of people in this country just make that assumption based on the fact that it's rammed down our throats so much. It's amongst the best league for sure, but i'm not convinced its the best and certainly £ for £ (what we, the public, pay), its a stinker!

If PL ticket prices had kept price with inflation from 1990, the average cost should now be £7/£10, so irrespective of foreigners the product is over priced.
So the first move in my view should be to drop prices substantially and the second would be to limit the amount of televised matches, this would have a significant effect on wages and transfer fees, of course the complete opposite will happen in the short term.

The fact is the foreign players are part of the Premier League so the point you make doe not arise.
They help to make it what it is.To what extent is a matter of opinion
