Not the best choice for pundit admittedly, but oh to have a central defender of his ability to build an International defence around.

It's absolutely ridiculous.
Both the the BBC's and ITV's production teams have been nothing but amateurish.

It's very poor. But slightly better than Adebayor in the last world cup.

ITV have always had a history of pundits with poor English. Cannavaro, Adebayor, Gascoigne etc.

What do we want from pundits and co-commentators?
I assume it is insights into the game which come from their experience and knowledge and not just cliches. I think Cannavaro is good but it is frustrating that he finds it hard to express himself freely. I used to like Gullit
It's kind of become unfashionable to say you think a pundit is doing a decent job
I think there have been some fairly decent performances so far Hoddle, O'Neill, Strachan, Dixon all have useful insights, even Ferdinand is not as bad as I thought he woud be. I think Seedorf could say more, he's a bit reserved. Yes, they all have irritating aspects too.
Would have been good to have Fergie imho.

The guy clearly has a point to make but his command of the language means he can't make that point and he ends up stating the fucking obvious. He then looks at Vieira and smiles inanely. Possibly the worst pundit on TV.

His performance in the 2006 semi v Germany is the best I have ever aeen from a central defender. Sheer class.
