Has this affected the National side?
Is this the competitive tournament that is required to blood our champions at the under 18 level?
Will this give them a greater chance to gain recognition in their respective high flying premier league clubs?

No. The 70s were halcyon days of home internationals and twice we didn't reach a World Cup.

No, we got to the world cup semi-final in 1990, the premier league was formed in 1992, it's gone down hill ever since

No, I don't believe it has. The question should be ' has the Premier League affected our national side ? '

I'd like to see the home nations return and maybe expand to include France and Italy like the rugby.

Playing Scotland and Wales these days would be fairly pointless in terms of giving the player top quality international experience, may as well play the Faroe Islands and Monaco

Playing another bunch of equally clueless cloggers wouldn't benefit any of the home nations.
And why on earth would France and Italy want to join in our festival of shite.
